  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't think having a mental health issue is saying that we are better than our DNA. Do you?
It seems like you’re arguing that employers shouldn’t “have to” deal with transfolk, (if they don’t wish to), sort of like pushing them back into hiding.

They shouldn't IF the transfolk are demanding that everyone affirm their mental illness identity including them using barhrooms and locker rooms of the opposite sex or everyone being forced to use their preferred pronouns etc. Employers shouldn't have to deal with that. Just like employers shoildnt have to deal with other people who might start demanding that everyone affirm their delusions that there are imaginary people in the hallway threatening to kill everyone.

Not to mention that there are those who are claiming to be trans when they are really have autogynaphelia. And employers should not have to deal with that either.

It's quite sad that there are people who.live in that world. They need mental health assistance. Which i honestly think we as a society ought to pay for. Mental health is a serious problem in the US and we are not doing much about it.

I don't think employers should have to "deal" with anyone. Employers should not, for instance, have to "deal" with black Americans in any special way. We're not getting black-only safe spaces, for instance, nor should we. Or are transfolk to be considered disabled?

I talked to my management-level connection today at Microsoft, Renton, WA, and mentioned this thread. They assured me that DEI is very much alive and well at Microsoft. They state they laid off a DEI team not the DEI team. Their explanation is that once DEI structures are well-developed and well- integrated into their HR structure they did not need to devote as many employees dedicated to that effort anymore. That is not to say they don't have a bunch still focused on DEI. Keep in mind, Microsoft has 47,000 employees in Renton, WA, alone so shedding one DEI team is likely a drop in the bucket from its total DEI initiative to which it remains dedicated. This personnel action was reported more as a reduction in force rather than a large corporation turning its back on DEI.

See my post #56. Is that what the Microsoft program is? Or are do they just have an effective equality policy that they're calling DEI?

I cannot say since I have not read the policy nor am I privy to the details of it. The person I speak with uses the term "DEI," and says the action cited in this thread is insignificant and changes nothing in their initiatives.
