In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Child marriage is a serious issue in many parts of the world. Countries with high rates of child marriage include Niger, Central African Republic, Chad, and Mali1. In these places, cultural, economic, and social factors often contribute to the practice, despite efforts to combat it.

A LOT of people would agree with you when a child is involved. Josh Duggar, who appeared on the TLC reality series “19 Kids and Counting,” has been sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography. There are people who believe he should have been sentenced to a lot more time than that.

How far we have come from before the civil war when it was legal to buy and sell slaves and do whatever you want with them. Even the house slaves, the "mammy and the "sissy" were considered to be a part of the family. The "fancy girls" in Lexington were mixed race and sold as sex slaves. They could sell for 20 or 30 thousand in todays money.

Even 40% of slaves were bought and sold by women. So the attitudes have changed a lot sense the civil war.

These perpetrators of these crimes are unlikely to enter the Kingdom of God, unless repenting of these sins. But hey, can I leave this thread? This stuff is dark.
