  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The political action committee Evangelicals for Harris rolled out an over $1 million ad campaign Thursday that features footage of the late evangelist Billy Graham and suggests former President Donald Trump exhibits the character of evil men in the last days.

The ad, which will play out over the next three weeks in battleground states, features a sermon Graham preached from 2 Timothy 3:1-5, in which Paul describes the terrible nature of the last days and warns "men will become utterly self-centered and greedy for money, full of big words."

The ad interspersed brief clips of Trump making comments that the PAC implied are indications he possesses the sinful characteristics of the End Times evildoers Paul was describing.

Good ad campaign. Hypocrisy should be called out. Blessings.

That is a terrible ad campaign. I believe that if Billy Graham was still alive today that he would condemn that ad.

Actually he would distance himself. You may want to read his stance on politics. He was a life long Democrat.

Yet, he was relatively neutral in his politics. Presidents from both parties welcomed Graham into the White House as an adviser. Also, I have little doubt that Billy Graham would speak out against the wokeness and the progressive far left policies which have taken over the Democratic Party. Also, Billy Graham was strongly on the pro-life sides of the abortion debates.

Sounds like Billy Graham would vote for John McCain if he was still alive, or Romney in 2024 if any of these folks ran today. Nowadays, if Billy Graham was still alive, he would probably vote for a 3rd party such as the American Solidarity party if he ever heard about it (founded in 2011), a party that is pro-life, but also pro-environment and pro-peace. Billy Graham would not stand for Trump or Kamala in 2024.

American Solidarity Party (Christian Democracy, political center):

An ad campaign 'Turkeys for Christmas' might be more plausible than 'Evangelicals for Harris' given some of her policy positions. God Bless All :)
Ahh, that turkey sounds delicious at the moment, but I agree with you. If an evangelical does not want to support Trump, they could have tried to get another politician such as Romney on the ballot, or voted 3rd party. Yes, some folks do not like Romney for some reason, but he would have made a better president, 100x better than Trump.

I don't believe that Mitt Romney is an American first politician and I don't believe that he is a conservative.

Our opinions may differ, but back in 2012, Romney was classified as a conservative. Maybe in 2024 he would be considered more moderate, but that is because the left has gone further left, and parts of the right has gone further right.

At least you and I both agree the left has gone off the deep end. We just disagree on which Republican would be a better choice. For myself, Romney is the moderate Republican we need to defeat the woke stuff. He would probably get broader support from those in the middle who would otherwise vote 3rd party or for Kamala. :) I feel that moderate Republicans are the key to bringing America back to more moderate times before the LGTV stuff made it into our world. That LGTV stuff belongs in the bedroom among two consenting adults, not paraded around public on Lust Month or any other month for that matter.

I don't like politics, i am not even from usa but when they are pushing for anti christian stuff i care, because what happens in USA sadly gets spilled everywhere.
I don't have an idea what the economic and etc policies are better but.

Let's see:

The left approves what now?

LGBT and gender stuff - anti biblical, satanic, anti christian.

Pushing those stuff to kids - anti biblical, satanic, anti christian.

Barring christian stuff firing people from jobs for citing bible verses, resisting christian stuff everywhere - anti biblical, satanic, anti christian.

Not letting you speak about the gospel or you get fired, and compelling speech with anti christian ideologies - anti biblical, satanic, anti christian.

Abortion stance - anti biblical, satanic, anti christian.

Anti israeli sentiments - anti biblical, satanic, anti christian.

Making churches woke because you are promoting crappy ideologies - super anti biblical, satanic, anti christian.

Inclusivity and tolerance, unless you believe a bit what the bible says - anti biblical, satanic, anti christian.

Feminism - anti biblical.

Unfortunately, I believe Harris will win the election as I predicted before.

Unless a candidate wins the female voters, they'll lose.

The culture of the West is on the ropes and about to go down.

Both sides are evil ... we pick our "poison" knowing it's all poison (the devil plays both sides). The Bible teaches as time goes on evil will escalate and it is .... it don't matter who is in political power ... evil is going to escalate.

If you don't think evil is on both sides ... you're fooling yourself.

Evangelicals for Harris’ anti-Trump Billy Graham ad prompts threat of lawsuit

The ad begins with a clip of renowned evangelist the Rev. Billy Graham, wearing glasses, a gray suit and tie, leaning in toward a pulpit.

“But you must realize that in the last days, the times will be full of danger,” Graham declares. “Men will become utterly self-centered and greedy for money.”

Suddenly, a clip of former President Donald Trump is spliced in. Standing before a row of American flags at a campaign rally in Des Moines, Iowa, Trump says: “My whole life I’ve been greedy, greedy, greedy. I’ve grabbed all the money I could get. I’m so greedy.”

For the next few seconds, the ad, which has racked up over 30 million views, flips between Graham’s 1988 sermon, contrasting his points with shots of Trump using violent language, claiming to be “the chosen one” and talking about kissing women without their consent.

That ad, the result of a $1 million ad campaign by Evangelicals for Harris, is now the subject of a potential lawsuit from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based nonprofit that supports the ministries of Billy Graham’s son and grandson. In late September and early October, Evangelicals for Harris, a grassroots campaign of the political action committee Evangelicals for America, said it received multiple letters from lawyers representing the association, including a “cease and desist” letter. An Oct. 2 letter, sent from outside counsel and obtained by RNS, threatened to sue Evangelicals for Harris on the basis of copyright infringement.

While the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association did not respond to a request for comment in time for publication, in August its president and CEO, Franklin Graham, turned to the social platform X to voice his displeasure at Evangelicals for Harris’ use of his father’s sermons.

“The liberals are using anything and everything they can to promote candidate Harris. They even developed a political ad trying to use my father @BillyGraham’s image. They are trying to mislead people,” he wrote. “Maybe they don’t know that my father appreciated the conservative values and policies of President @realDonaldTrump in 2016, and if he were alive today, my father’s views and opinions would not have changed.”

If Billy Graham were alive today, I believe he would be a Donald Trump supporter just like his son, Franklin Graham, is.

The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.
I agree.

In the 2020 election Biden was pulling in all sorts of voters, I saw a report where a chap who died in the American Civil War had registered and voted for Biden. God Bless You :)
