People who do not use sound Epistemology, and embrace conspiracy theories, are
NOT benign.
These proposed late changes in how votes are to be counted in Georgia, have
the real potential to themselves be interference with the fair voting processes
in a state.
Note that people who believe conspiracy theories, tend to want to legislate
to place manual counting systems in place. Manual vote counting systems
are less accurate than machine counting systems. (Why do we have machines,
counting money handed out at ATMs?)
Manual vote counting processes insert private individual's doubts, into a
counting system (anyone in the counting system, could hold up an election).
Doubts about manual counts, leads to more conspiracy theories.
More conspiracy theories tend to trigger more (strange) legislation).
The cycle goes on....
Christians should note that this sort of systemic doubt of careful
process, also happens in the anti-intellectual Christian groups, with
regard to careful biblical scholarship. The most uneducated Christians
want to hold the interpretation of the Scriptures in their own hands,
regardless of the best and most rigorous scholarship.
