  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Half of US clergy backs Trump — with only 23% backing Harris: survey

Harris is a compromised Christian, I get that. Her views on abortion and gay marriage have nothing to do with true faith. She does not stand with persecuted Christians around the world and turns a blind eye to their oppression. But this unanimity of support for Trump is deeply concerning because the man is not fit to be president.

He has a criminal record, he is an adulterer and he is a bully who divides rather than unites. His economic strategy could bankrupt the USA and his foreign policy is a disaster waiting to happen and would destabilize the entire world.

The fact is that Trump is emptying churches because his message is essentially one of using force to promote Christianity, tinged with the racism of white protestants against Hispanic immigrants, showing contempt for the poor, and lacking all Christian compassion. Persecuted Christians around the world may appreciate that he might help them but in the long run, his support is a poisoned chalice that will not benefit them as it will harden hearts and minds against them in their lands.

The best policy for Republican Christians is to vote for Harris for president and support the Republicans in the Senate and House. That way they can ensure she cannot pass her Federal baby-killing bill but at least end this Trump nightmare once and for all.

What kind of business experience does Harris have? I mean other that what Biden might have taught her about Hunter's shell companies.

Most American yearn to go back to the good old economic times that had under good old Trump.

You mean worse than overthrowing a government, installing a puppet, and pushing us toward war with the world's most powerful nuclear power, while simultaneously pushing us toward war with that nuclear power's ally, which has one of the largest populations on earth?

China has us out manned; and Russia has us outgunned; and this administration thinks that it can win a three front war.

It's insanity; but these Oligarchs have bunkers to save their own skin.

Oh, and I almost forgot this:

In your eyes, is the best policy to sell out the American People to the Globalists?

We're living in a perpetual SNL skit. It's so ridiculous you have to laugh.

You forgot North Korea. If we deal with the pair we'd have them as well.

It's insanity; but these Oligarchs have bunkers to save their own skin.

A very smart move. You should do the same.

In your eyes, is the best policy to sell out the American People to the Globalists?

You can't possibly believe they're only in one camp. Whether we get Trump or Harris they're part of the package.

You do know this didn’t happen? The Jan 6th coup failed.

I'm not sure about your numbers.

Christianity Today has the same numbers, but says that 24% of pastors
will vote for Kamala, and 23% are undecided.

Note that these stats seem to apply to Protestant "sort of" pastors.

Among some groups, there is much more support for Kamala than
for Trump.

These numbers were similar to the numbers in the 2020 election.
I'm not sure what insight can be gotten out of these numbers.

I don't know; but we Christians do.
That's odd. I regularly hear whinging on this very site about how few "so-called" (as they are often tagged) Christians go to church regularly, or have a "Biblical worldview", or Catholics about the large number of their fellows that don't follow the Church's teachings on birth control or abortion.

Don't think "listening to clergy" on politics is super high in the pews.

The US hasn't overthrown a government since we pushed out Saddam. That was 2 decades ago.
and pushing us toward war with the world's most powerful nuclear power,
How would that work? We *are* the "world's most powerful nuclear power".
while simultaneously pushing us toward war with that nuclear power's ally, which has one of the largest populations on earth?
Since you seem to be talking about Russia earlier, you should know that China and Russia aren't "allies" in any meaningful military sense.

You are talking about selling out the Ukraine to Putin and Taiwan to Xi Jing Ping, breaking the NATO alliance that has kept the peace for 77 years and a general level of favoritism to dictators! The brinkmanship here is being performed by Putin. Russia does not have the USA or indeed the rest of NATO outgunned and who cares how many Chinese there are. The current world order benefits the USA and indeed the rest of us. It keeps the peace and trade flowing. Also it keeps your borrowing costs lower.

"....while 23% refused to answer, Lifeway Research said. That “no answer” figure is roughly six times the 4% who declined an answer four years ago."

..not exactly a neutral polling organization:

Launched in 2006, Lifeway Research is a leading evangelical research firm measuring needs in the church and culture. Lifeway Research has become a renowned and respected source for insights on pastoral leadership, church ministry, and the beliefs and faith practices of Americans.

These are some of our involvement in regime change since Saddam: 2004: Haiti, 2005: Kyrgyzstan, 2006–2007: Palestine, 2005–2009: Syria, 2011: Libya, 2012–2017: Syria, 2019: Bolivia, 2019–2022: Venezuela.
How would that work? We *are* the "world's most powerful nuclear power".
Yes we are but once the button is pushed there will be no winners and if we get into a nuclear conflict I'm sure China will help Russia finish the USA off. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
