  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Taking a page out of her boss’s playbook, Vice President Kamala Harris told major whoppers during her Tuesday night debate against Donald Trump. With help from left-wing activists masquerading as debate moderators, Harris whitewashed her extreme record, lied about Trump’s policy positions, and more.

Here are some of the biggest falsehoods she told throughout the evening.

I had a very hard time last nite watching the debate.
Like you, being informed, I heard her lie and lie and lie ... and it was nearly unbearable to listen to her.

You produced an article that is clearly spin. What is it that you "being informed" think Harris said that was intended to deceive others?

Say what you want about CNN, but I would rate their fact checking at least ten times more accurate than "The Federalist," an extremely conservative media source.
Liberal fact checking vs conservative fact checking.

I can't open it without starting a free trial, and I get enough spam in my email as it is.
Could you share a few of what they consider to be the biggest lies? TY.
Just click the "x" in the upper right corner of the "start your free trial" pop-up. It goes away and then you can read the article.

And that remains a matter of opinion.

Harris claimed that she grew up a “middle-class kid.” That is not true. As previously noted by journalist Megyn Kelly, Harris’ father was a professor at Stanford University, while her mother was a biomedical scientist at UC Berkley.

This is a testimony from a childhood friend:
Carole Porter, a childhood friend of Harris, says she was the "other little girl on the bus." Porter spoke with All Things Considered host Ari Shapiro to share the childhood experiences that shaped Harris.

The Harris family lived in the apartment above Shelton's Daycare, where Harris and Porter would spend a lot of time together.

"Mrs. Shelton was a matriarch of our neighborhood," Porter says. Harris has described Regina Shelton as a second mother.
"We really lived in a very multicultural community that was really beautiful — very working-class to lower-working-class," Porter says. "[Harris] was confident, and she was nice."

Porter's family lived a few doors down from the house in the redlined Berkeley, Calif. neighborhood where young Kamala lived with her little sister, Maya, and their mother, Shyamala.

"The Shyamala that I remember as a child, she had an air of confidence about her. She had an air of just integrity and strength. When you saw Shyamala, you said, 'Hello, Mrs. Harris.'"

Thanks, but "Rocks in My Head" posted a wonderful analysis of the Federalist Society's allegations about Harris' lies on the thread

Kamala Harris's Lies During the September 10th Debate.

It explained things thoroughly and gave me all the information I need, but I appreciate your response.

Almost all media outlets are spin. Both on the left and the right.

Debates do not provide the platform for candidates to fully detail their policies ... they are basically "sound bites".

A couple of examples given there - with corrected/correcting response

4. Jan. 6

Harris contended that the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol was the “worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.”

Response: Contrary to Harris’ claim, the J6 events did not put American self-governance in jeopardy, nor did it expose Americans to risks like those experienced during World War I, the Japanese attacks on Pearl Harbor, or World War II, to name a few.

5. Project 2025

Harris claimed Trump will implement Project 2025 if elected.
Response: Trump has repeatedly said he has nothing to do with Project 2025.

============================

My response

- Harris made claim #4 very close to 9/11/2024 AS IF Americans suffered more on Jan 6 than on 9/11. I guess we are supposed to imagine we are all 4 year olds.

The response to Claim #5 as listed above is just a fact. 2025 agenda was never sponsored-by or promoted-by Trump. It is just a convenient red-herring if one does not have an actual fact to complain about. That means we should expect it to come up over and over in no-fact-check form.

I find it so interesting Harris' mentioning Trump inherited $400 million from his father and went bankrupt six times is never mentioned among the lies.
Trump denied this of course, as he does the 88 felony indictments backed up by boatloads of evidence.
I must assume, as I do with the 88 felony indictments, that it's the truth.
Speaking very poorly of his business acumen and his character.
