US says white supremacist group tried to incite followers on Telegram to spark race war
Leaders Dallas Humber and Matthew Allison face 15 counts including soliciting hate crimes and support for terrorism
It's quite easy for Christians to recognize that white supremicists,
trying to incite their followers on social media to commit acts of
violence and destruction against the American government, in
order to incite a race war in America, is evil.
Note that it is proper for the Justice Department to indict and prosecute
these white supremicist speakers, as they are not covered by some mythical
"immunity from prosecution" by the right to freedom of speech.
---------- ----------
What is NOT quite so obvious to many American Christians, is that there is an
overlap between the rhetoric of white supremicist groups, and the rhetoric of
other influencers on the Internet, whom Christians would NOT associate with
white supremicists.
For example, we see arguments used by the white supremicists, sometimes
echoed by Tucker Carlson in his conspiracy theory hallucinations. Tucker
recently came out with the story that Hitler and the Nazis, did not really "plan"
the Holocaust of the Jews, despite reams of historical evidence that both
Hitler and the Nazi regime carefully planned the Holocaust. The white supremicists
say the same thing.
For example, we see the rhetoric among white supremicists, that non-white
people (whatever that means), are a huge source of disease and crime and
stolen jobs, for (white) American Christians. You might think that no American
Christians would be dumb enough NOT to realize that these same arguments, as
used by some politicians (who do not come right out and say that they are
white supremicists), are actually THE ARGUMENTS OF WHITE SUPREMICISTS.
It is right for the Department of Justice to pursue the prosecution of these
abusive groups, with the RICO racketeering laws, and to hold these groups
accountable for the lies that they are telling, and the criminal activity that
they are trying to incite.
It is fine for Christians to advocate for the upholding of law and order.
But when politicians or Christians bypass the fair rule of law in America, and advocate for
"taking the law into your own hands", then they are advocating for lawlessness. They
are advocating for bypassing the fair rule of law in America. And, for Christians,
lawlessness is sin.
Christians should be aware of the great difference between being for "law and order",
and advocating for bypassing the law, and carrying out acts of lawless vigilantism.
