  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Between 2002 and 2018, Apollo Carreon Quiboloy — the founder of a Philippines-based megachurch — and his accomplices recruited women and girls as young as 12 to work as Quiboloy’s personal assistants, or “pastorals,” prosecutors said.

Quiboloy, an ally of the Philippine president who has referred to himself as “the Appointed Son of God” and is believed to be 71, allegedly forced the women and girls to regularly engage in sexual acts with him in what he called the “night duty.” Quiboloy, also known as “sir” and “pastor,” and his accomplices would tell his victims that obedience to Quiboloy was “God’s will” and that “night duty” was considered a privilege and a means to salvation, court records state.

Now, Quiboloy and two of his top administrators, Teresita Tolibas Dandan, 59, and Felina Salinas, 50, have been charged with orchestrating a sex-trafficking operation, federal prosecutors announced this week. Girls and young women were forced into sex with the church’s leader under threats of “eternal damnation,” according to a superseding indictment unsealed on Thursday and filed in the U.S. Central District of California.

The 42-count superseding indictment includes nine defendants and expands on charges filed last year against three church administrators. That indictment accused the administrators of illegally bringing church members to the United States on fraudulent visas

A man using the name of God in some way to self-serve at the expense of innocents. .... not very shocking, unfortunately. =/

Quiboloy warns of ‘much worse than Omicron virus’ if his ‘persecution’ is not stopped

“Various variant of the COVID-19 is only an introduction. If you keep hurting, persecuting and harming the appointed son in the kingdom, you will see much worse than the Omicron virus... You might see in the future, people walking their flesh rotting away, but they’re still alive. Flesh eating bacterias that are immune to any vaccine will come and destroy the inhabitants of the earth...

The day of the Lord is here—do not ever ever play a joke, or continue to pursue the persecution of the appointed son because the Father in heaven has already declared through the appointed son. No one can escape this... The way you treat the appointed son of God here is the way the world is going to receive its judgment… You want this to stop? Stop persecuting, prosecuting, maligning and falsely accusing the appointed son. If you continue to that, the world will suffer,”

... I'm pretty sure that no appointed son of God would use his authority to take sexual advantage of other human beings and apparently have no remorse over it, Quiboloy.

Hundreds of police raid a religious compound in search of Filipino preacher wanted for child abuse

Hundreds of police officers backed by riot squads raided a vast religious compound in a southern Philippine city Saturday in search of a local preacher accused of sexual abuse and human trafficking, police officials said.

A supporter of the group, called Kingdom of Jesus Christ, reportedly died due to a heart attack during the massive police raid that started at dawn in the group’s compound in Davao city, livestreamed online by a local TV network owned by the group, police said, adding that the death was not related to the police operations.

Officers brought equipment that could detect people behind cement walls. But by mid-afternoon, they found no sign of Apollo Quiboloy in the compound — some 30 hectares (75 acres) that includes a cathedral, a school, a living area, a hangar and a taxiway leading to Davao International Airport.

In 2021, United States federal prosecutors announced the indictment of Quiboloy for allegedly having sex with women and underage girls who faced threats of abuse and “eternal damnation” unless they catered to the self-proclaimed “son of God.”

Quiboloy and two of his top administrators were among nine people named in a superseding indictment returned by a federal grand jury and unsealed in November 2021.

The superseding indictment contained a raft of charges , including conspiracy, sex trafficking of children, sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, marriage fraud, money laundering, cash smuggling and visa fraud.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has urged Quiboloy to surrender and assured him of fair treatment by authorities.

The search for Quiboloy continues.

The regional police chief said on Sunday afternoon that it is just “a matter of time” before law enforcers could arrest Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy as they have discovered an underground bunker in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound where the fugitive religious leader is believed to be hiding.

In a press conference at the Camp Sgt. Quintin M. Merecido with General Romel Marbil, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, the regional police chief, said he is more confident this time that the police forces are now close to arresting Quiboloy as the location of the bunker was located through the ground-penetrating radar (GPR), a device that could detect heartbeat, movement, and heat signature.

He said the police forces are now trying to locate the entrance to the bunker.

PNP Chief Marbil maintained that law enforcers are just implementing the arrest warrants from the court and that the police have reliable information that Quiboloy is hiding inside the KOJC compound.

He said law enforcers are facing difficulties in serving the arrest warrants because the KOJC members have prepared in anticipation of another police operation, putting up barricades inside the complex.

Marbil added that their information that the fugitives are inside the KOJC compound is not based on mere suspicion.

Marbil also said the rescue on Sunday of two KOJC members who were reportedly victims of human trafficking, may constitute additional charges.

Quiboloy group secures temporary protection order from Davao court

A regional court in Davao City has issued a temporary protection order in favor of fugitive preacher Apollo Quiboloy’s Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) and directed the police to immediately remove everything that restricts access to, and from, the group’s 30-hectare compound.

Judge Mario Duaves of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 15 in Davao City issued the order in response to a petition filed by KOJC lawyer Israelito Torreon against Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos and the Philippine National Police (PNP)...

Duaves ordered the PNP in the Davao Region to “immediately cease and desist from any act or omission that threatens the life, liberty, or security, as well as the properties, of the petitioners.”

Abalos, meanwhile, told radio station DXBB that police operations inside the KOJC property would continue, but authorities would follow the Davao court’s order to remove barriers.

The court order came hours after Torreon alleged that the police had begun drilling inside the school owned by Quiboloy, as authorities continued their search for the controversial preacher and four of his associates wanted on charges of child abuse and trafficking.

He said the drilling began early in the morning without KOJC’s consent, an act he argued went beyond the scope of the alias warrant of arrest against Quiboloy’s group. He earlier told reporters that the police entered the property with only an alias warrant or arrest, which should not be confused with a search warrant.

Police have neither confirmed nor denied Torreon’s claim as of posting time.

Quiboloy arrested

Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) and self-appointed son of God, has been arrested after several months of evading capture, according to Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin C. Abalos.

In an interview with TV reporters, Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, Police Regional Office-11 (PRO-11) director, declined to categorically answer questions if Quiboloy was arrested or surrendered. He suggested that questions as to the details should be addressed to the DILG secretary.

He said Quiboloy was brought to Manila via a C-130 plane, which earlier landed at the Tactical Operations Group (TOG)-Davao at the Old Airport in Sasa located near the KOJC compound.

Quiboloy’s arrest took place on Day 16 of the police operation to serve the arrest warrants on Quiboloy and four of his five co-accused inside the KOJC compound since it started last August 24.

Quiboloy is facing charges of child abuse and qualified human trafficking, along with co-accused Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada, and Sylvia Cemañes. Paulene was arrested last July 11 at her residence in Emily Homes Subdivision in Barangay Cabantian here.

The suspects have two warrants of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 12 in Davao City and the RTC in Pasig City in April this year.
