  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Saudi Crown Prince buys painting of Christ for his new museum...Is this significant for the end times?

Mohammed bin Salman was the mystery buyer of "Salvator Mundi," a painting of Christ by Leonardo Da Vinci that recently sold for a record $450 million.

The buyer is Saudi Arabia's crown prince whose country forbids the official worship of Christ or any other religion except Islam.

The likely outrage is that an image of Christ is intended to be the centrepiece of a huge new museum in Riyadh.

It is too early to believe that the crown prince has become an apostate, but the idea of our Saviour and the returning King and Judge having a kind of victorious presence in the birthplace of Islam is eye-popping to me.

He didn't buy it recently. He bought it back in 2017. Supposedly for the Louvre Abu Dhabi. But it went to the Lourve in Paris where it was shown for a little while. But, the Saudi's threw a hissy fit when the French wouldn't display it beside the Mona Lisa (for security reasons).

From there it went back to Saudi where its whereabouts have been a bit uncertain. Some say on the Prince's yacht. Some say in storage somewhere in Saudi, some say in storage in Geneva.

In any event, the plan as far as is known, is for it to be hung in a new museum in somewhere in Saudi. Some say that will be a complex called Wadi Alfann others say it will be in yet another branch of the Louvre in Riyadh.

But, the purchase and eventual display of the painting is all part of the Saudi's massive investment in sports, entertainment, art, architecture, etc. Its a effort to try and turn the image of Saudi from an oppressive oil rich regime to one where (they hope) the arts, sports and entertainment will cause them to be seen in a better light and bring in tourism dollars. Similar to UAE / Abu Dhabi.
