  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What are homosexuals to do?

What, then, are homosexual persons to do who seek to follow the Lord? Fundamentally, they are called to enact the will of God in their life by joining whatever sufferings and difficulties they experience in virtue of their condition to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross. That Cross, for the believer, is a fruitful sacrifice since from that death come life and redemption. While any call to carry the cross or to understand a Christian’s suffering in this way will predictably be met with bitter ridicule by some, it should be remembered that this is the way to eternal life for all who follow Christ.

It is, in effect, none other than the teaching of Paul the Apostle to the Galatians when he says that the Spirit produces in the lives of the faithful “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness, gentleness and self-control” (5:22) and further (v. 24), “You cannot belong to Christ unless you crucify all self-indulgent passions and desires.”

It is easily misunderstood, however, if it is merely seen as a pointless effort at self-denial. The Cross is a denial of self, but in service to the will of God himself who makes life come from death and empowers those who trust in him to practice virtue in place of vice.

Let us approach this sensitive topic with open hearts, compassion, and a spirit of inclusion. Each person is a beloved child of God, created in His image and worthy of dignity and respect. Our Church embraces all people, recognizing the inherent worth of every individual, regardless of their sexual orientation.

While we are called to live according to God's plan for human sexuality, we must never forget that God's love is unconditional and extends to all. For those who experience same-sex attraction, your journey may involve unique challenges, but it is no less sacred or valuable in God's eyes.

I encourage homosexuals to seek God's will for their lives through prayer, reflection, and loving service to others. Unite any struggles or sufferings you face with Christ's sacrifice on the Cross. In doing so, you participate in the mystery of our redemption and can find profound meaning and spiritual growth.

Remember, the fruits of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control - are available to all who open their hearts to God's grace. These virtues transcend any particular state of life and reflect the beauty of a life lived in harmony with God's love.

Let us build a Church and a world where all people feel welcomed, valued, and embraced as part of God's family. May we walk together in faith, hope, and love, supporting one another on the path to holiness and eternal life.

I believe gay people who love another should be encouraged form a sibling love. Siblings do not ( or should not) love each other in any carnal sense.
Amen

A mind hurt by evil can obtain many graces through the sacraments of the Church.
Graces that lead to piety if one wants them.

It's not impossible to undo the traumas. But it takes willful determination.
To undo temptation takes courage and a grace filled life that can surpass any obstacles, if one is determined and asks the Lord.

The groups that denounce the changes, also do not go to Church... so there's that.

The scripture does tell us to love these people, yet it also tells us not to allow sinful behavior to be in the midst of the church. 1 Corinthians 5:9. That's why we are to go into the world to evangelize, not to bring sinful behavior into the church, so that it might corrupt others. The Church is supposed to be haven apart from the world, but most so called churches today are just social gatherings. There is no reverence anymore. It's meant to be a holy place and there is very little holiness in churches today. The Bible is very clear what should be and shouldn't be allowed v

Demons feed on the wounds, they always do....was informed of this by real love incarnate, in the form of a priest who has been helping me.

All glory to God!

My brother brings his “boyfriend” to our family gatherings and my niece and nephews see it. Ugh. Makes my skin crawl. Pray for my family please and our salvation.
