  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dr. Alveda C. King wrote an excellent article concerning the years long tragedy and persecution in Azerbaijan of the Armenian Christians over there.
I will say a prayer for the Armenian church, as Armenia went through a brutal genocide in 1915, then again with persecution in more recent times. Also, the Armenian church is one of the oldest churches, predating the Protestant church by almost 15 centuries, the Great Schism by 1000 years. Armenia also had the first national religion in ~400 AD.

Quote from Newsweek: "While peace in the South Caucasus should be welcomed, Armenia must demand Azerbaijan end its ongoing campaign of cultural erasure of Armenian churches, monasteries, khachkars (cross-stone monuments), and other religious sites that have stood in the region for thousands of years as a condition for any peace agreement."

Also, Armenia might be in a peace talk with Azerbaijan, so prayer for the talks to go well:
