I was looking at some Katy Perry info and she claims she's still a good "Christian" girl. But some of her videos, stage routines, public displays just ooze sexiness. Are the two in conflict with one another?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not really sure if Katy Perry is a good Christian girl or not. How she dresses isn't the problem, it's her music. Listen to the words in futuristic lover or Teenage dream. Young girls listen to her music and look up to her so she could set a better example of a good Christian! Looking sexy doesn't nessasarily mean wearing less clothes. I like to look and feel good, but I do it for me and nobody else. I usually just wear jeans and a T-shirt, but that's sexy to me.

First of all no one said that. You dont see people in America wearing things like she does in her videos. She Isnt a Christian she even says she sold her soul to the Devil in an interview.

Yes.. Within God Realistic reason. god does want us to reveal or inner beauti
However within respect for ourselves, God, and.. We should Never dress like a sleez :-/.
Im not sure where Kate Perrys head is at In my opinion.. In an interview she did last yr. she said she was a little rebel. Toward her parents and their unique God beliefs. She thought they were somewhat unique not exactly those exact words. She somewhat fround at them. Same with her little sister.
She seems somewhat misguided in my opinion. According to her and her sister.. Her father was an over unique Pastor took some things out context. Like devils food cake or the devils egg.. I forget what they r calld at the u boil them cut them in half take out the yellow stuff and mayo to that and add that to the middle section of the white part :-/.. ?? What r they calld friends...
Im not a fan of hers really.
Also.. we never hear if she goes to church. and some of her songs may put her to haties gates in my opinion

I honestly don't know Katy Perry's heart, so I can't say for sure.
As for the question on being Christian and sexy at the same time, well, I think there are some considerations.
1. I know Christian girls are instructed to dress modestly. A lot of us assume that means to cover up. Though modesty doesn't just have to be about how a person dresses. It also about the heart as well.
2. We live in a society that dressing immodestly is okay. Back in the 18th-20th centuries, it was considered immodest to bare your arms. Then of course, over time that has changed.
So can a girl be a Christian and sexy? Well, that might depend on what her heart motivation. Is she wearing a certain often to stay cool during the hot summer or is she just drawing attention?
