"It's condensed teaching of Christ and it's illuminated in a catechetical way."

didache bible, didache meaning

Were early Christians really Catholic?

On this interesting episode of "The Catholic Talk Show," Ryan Scheel, Ryan DellaCrosse, and Father Matt King discuss one of the earliest Christian texts: the Didache.

The Didache, also known as "The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles," is an ancient Christian manuscript that gives us amazing insight into the practices and beliefs of the Early Church!

“The Didache shows how much continuity there is between the early Apostolic Church and the Church Fathers and the way we celebrate the Catholic faith today,” says Scheel.

Well, folks, we got us another well-meaning, obviously sincere, but misguided non-Catholic above who wants to "save" us from the un-Christian Catholic Church. (yawn)

Zenos, you'd better read the rules of the Catholic forums before you start posting in here so you don't get into trouble. Basically, you cannot debate the veracity of the Catholic Faith on the Catholic forum. You cannot come in here and tell us we're wrong, lost, misguided, un-Christian, deluded, etc., etc., etc., ad infinitum et nauseam et absurdum. It's not allowed.

I appreciate your concern for we foolish papists, but believe me, most of us have been down this road ten million times already; we've heard all the arguments and we know all the "proofs" that are always trotted out against us. The fact is, we can present you with more arguments that show the truth of the Catholic Faith than you can come up with arguments against it---so do us a favor and just don't, okay?

You don't have to be Catholic; that's fine with us. We're not going to try to convert you, but you trying to convert us is not permitted by the rules of the forum. We don't expect to convince you, and you're certainly not going to convince us, so leave it at that. Have a blessed day. Benedicat vos omnipotens Deus, Pater +, et Filius +, et Spiritus Sanctus+, amen.
