Hello.

I am new to Christianity. I love Jesus and God. I believe in Jesus and God.

I want to get baptized at some point. And perhaps become a Christian monk for a few months at some point in the coming years.

So far, I know just a little bit of Christianity. I will be studying from today on. I want to go deep into Christianity, especially for the purpose of Salvation.

Question: if I want to be just a Christian and not belong to any particular denomination (be it Orthodox Christian or Catholic Christian or Protestant), what would I be then called: a "Non-denominational Christian" or a "Pan-Christian" or an "Eclectic Christian"??? I want to be into most branches of Christianity and not just one. But the primary branch may be the Roman Catholic Church for me. I may get baptized there and be a Catholic monk. But I need things from the rest of Christianity. As well. I may be in Methodism as well. Can't tell you now. Don't know enough as of yet.

Thank you. God bless.

Welcome, brother, and welcome to the faith Mr. Mettle. You can study the other denominations while being part of a certain denomination. I am Catholic, but appreciate the other denominations, as I was nondenominational before 2022.

Brother Stephan it doesn't work in that way just as you can't take all the food at the table at once it 'll constipate your stomach and the same you can't take all the Christian faiths of different denominations at the same 'll mislead your choice. Just relux and patiently study the doctrines of each denominations and you shall find one wich is teaching the truth and follow it.

Welcome @Stefan Mettle to the Lords family. Finding a church can be a problem. I suppose it’s all truth- just differences of opinion, with people being redeemed in every walk. Focus on agreement and seek to obey the Lord as you see it in the Bible. Welcome to the forum

Welcome! Finding a church can be difficult if based on the doctrine of churches instead of what scripture teaches.

We are told God’s Church is not the most popular- in fact its called a remnant (small -remainder of the original) and they keep God’s commandments - which most churches teach 9 of the Ten Commandments or that they can edit one of the commandments or teach we no longer need to keep God’s commandments. God said He would not alter His Words Psa 89:34 so its best to stick with what God said.

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman (Chruch), and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

My suggestion would be to spend time in prayer and study the scriptures and ask God to lead you to the right church. I would be sure you know what the Bible says and if a preacher is teaching against the law and the testimony , I would consider trying a different church Isa 8:20

God bless!

Welcome Stefan! Praying and urging you to pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you - He won't fail you.

I would offer that a central indicator of a faithful body is whether the Pastor is preaching expositionally or topically from his Bible, and if the congregants carry on their person and affirm the message from their own Bibles - like the Bereans!

Also studying the Statement of Faith of a potential Church and comparing to Scripture is also vital.

Both suggestions give the Holy Spirit the means to guide you.

God bless and jump in!

Welcome ... study deeply the bible for yourself .... compare what you learn with what is being taught by any church. If you are intent on becoming a monk that limits your belief to particular theologies.

Thank you all. God bless you.
Hello, Stephan. Welcome to Christianity! One thing you will learn, as you follow the path of Jesus Christ, is that when you received the Holy Spirit, you also agreed to do the will of your Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. One of a Christian's favorite prayers is, "Thy will, not mine be done."

God will not force His will on you. You must follow it willingly. We don't always do that, but God's way is always better than our own way. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and He loves us better than we can love ourselves. He knows the future and He knows what is in our hearts and the hearts of everyone around us. You might want to seek His advice about which church to attend. But it's always your choice whether to put yourself in His hands or not.

If you want one method of knowing His will, I refer you to Judges chapters 6-8 in your Bible. The story of Gideon, and how he put out a fleece to know God's will. It doesn't have to be a literal fleece. I suggest you look that up online to get an idea of how to use it in your own life. Or you can ask questions here. Someone will help you.

Have a blessed day! : )
