So was OJ. It must be nice to be able to spend a half a million on attorneys.
The lawyers can spend the money as they wish. Neither McCabe or any of us reading about it have any say in it.
McCabe wanted to defend his reputation and receive the pension he had earned. He did. Firing him 2 days before his early retirement date was vicious, and not called for when he was not even charged for anything.

This appears to be true. To my knowledge there are no laws against this sort of discrimination; so to my knowledge they are free to donate money to organizations that practice discrimination, and then free to publicly display it as if it's some sort of badge of honor.

I guess liberty wins this time.

They are free to donate to whoever they wish - be it a faith related group, a Latinx group, a black group or white group. Just like you can donate to your own church rather than a church you disagree with.
You wouldn't be discriminating against that church - just giving to the one you belong to.

Personally, I wouldn't donate money to a church that wouldn't open their doors to a Latinx group, a black group or white group.

I tend to discriminate against bigotry.

Neither would I.
I was speaking of donating on the basis of what the church teaches. There are some nice congregations out there but I would not donate to them based on their theology. We are free to do that. The lawyers are free to donate to whatever group they feel has a need.

It really is a side issue. McCabe didn't sue so his lawyers could donate as they plan to.

Correction: Paid by We the People.

Don't give me this "government' business!
Yeah. Poor choice by the previous president to saddle you with that.

So a dirty cop gets fired and then gets his pension and stuff back? And people are happy about that?

Kind of makes the whole argument of "we need to get rid of dirty cops" weak.

People complain about cops and the system protecting their own and how bad it is. And when the system does it in this case they applaud it.

Very interesting.

If he was "dirty" (however you define that), why wasn't he charged? Prosecutors decided against it.

I like McCabe's attitude about this .He right about the damage an evil person can cause. I do believe Trump should be paying the court cost . Not the tax payers. MSN

But McCabe was wrongfully terminated. For no reason. By someone that like to play stupid games with peoples lives. Which is why McCabe won. Any reasonable person would see Trump was wrong .

Hmmm.... Isnt that the progressive argument when other cops aren't prosecuted? Oh wait, no it's not.

Andrew McCabe shows how to lie at your job and still get paid

So, we see once again a right of center person gets crucified for lying, but a lefty gets applauded and forgiven. Yeah, we have a very balanced justice department.

OIG: Andrew McCabe Lied Under Oath | Law & Crime

Ever heard of a Brady cop? One that's not credible because they have been found to have lied?

A lot of agencies fire their cops for lying. I'm sure you would support that. But not in this case however, cause he was fired by your numb r one most hated guy.

You lie under oath as a member of the Justice Department and you get fired for it? And that's unreasonable?

Wasn't one of the things Stone was charged with lying under oath? I bet you didn't think he should be left off for that.

Trump may be questioned in lawsuits by ex-FBI employees Strzok and Page

A federal judge on Thursday ordered that former president Donald Trump and FBI Director Christopher A. Wray can be questioned under oath by attorneys for two former senior FBI employees who allege in separate lawsuits that they were illegally targeted for retribution after the FBI investigated Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The decision by U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson of Washington came in consolidated lawsuits against the FBI and Justice Department by former senior FBI agent Peter Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, who exchanged politically charged text messages criticizing Trump while they were having an affair.

Strzok seeks reinstatement and back pay over what he alleges was his unfair termination. Page alleges officials unlawfully released the trove of messages to reporters.

A recent interview in which Trump bragged about firing those FBI officials may have factored into the judge’s ruling.

“If I didn’t fire Comey, and if I didn’t fire McCabe and Strzok and Page and all of that scum that was in there, you would have had, they were trying to do an overthrow,” Trump said Feb. 2 on the Hugh Hewitt Show.

Strzok asserted in the suit that Trump’s administration tolerated partisan political speech by federal employees — but only if it praised Trump and attacked his opponents — and alleged that his removal was “part of a broader campaign against the very principle of free speech” led by the former president.

Peter Strzok and Lisa Page’s lawyers set to depose Trump in mid-October

Lawyers for former FBI lawyer Lisa Page and fired FBI agent Peter Strzok scheduled a mid-October deposition for former President Donald Trump to testify as a witness in their lawsuits against the U.S. Department of Justice.

Now that Strzok and Page got the the judicial go-ahead, Trump’s deposition in the civil cases has been set for Oct. 17.

“Plaintiffs recognize that a government shutdown appears likely to commence on October 1, 2023, and that the Department of Justice may request stays in nearly all civil actions in which it is a party,” the notice continued. “Plaintiffs are also aware of the possibility of a district-wide default stay in such cases. Considering the lengthy effort that scheduling Mr. Trump’s deposition required (see Exhibit A) and that a stay might result in substantial delay of the conclusion of this action, Plaintiffs will oppose any stay and expect to promptly request relief from any default stay that is imposed.”

Ex-FBI officials Strzok, Page near DOJ settlement over anti-Trump text leak

Fired FBI agent Peter Strzok and former bureau lawyer Lisa Page have reached a tentative deal to settle their allegations that the Trump administration’s Justice Department violated the Privacy Act by leaking their anti-Trump texts.

The settlement came after attorneys for the two former employees won court approval to question Trump and FBI Director Christopher A. Wray separately under oath.

Trump was deposed in October 2023, after publicly bragging about firing FBI officials.

“If I didn’t fire [former FBI director James] Comey, and if I didn’t fire [former FBI deputy director Andrew] McCabe and Strzok and Page and all of that scum that was in there, you would have had, they were trying to do an overthrow,” Trump said last year in February on “The Hugh Hewitt Show.”

[Strzok is also seeking reinstatement and back pay for being fired. Page left voluntarily.]

Former FBI agent Peter Strzok reaches $1.2 million settlement with DOJ: Lawyers

According to Strzok's lawyers, the U.S. government has agreed to pay Strzok $1.2 million.

In his 2019 lawsuit, Strzok and his lawyers argued that the FBI and DOJ unlawfully disclosed his private text messages disparaging Trump before and after the 2016 presidential election -- including the time frame during which Strzok helped lead the agency's investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's private email server and Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

"The FBI fired Special Agent Strzok because of his protected political speech in violation of his rights under the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States," the lawsuit argued.
