I interpreted it as a "public service announcement," to inform everyone in the world about who is empowered to lead the way. And who isn't.

Fortunately, as fate would have it, at the same moment during which the Olympics was dragging across the television screen, I saw a video from Biblical Critic Dan McClellan about the nature of the Mark of the Beast, and his words admonished me and made it all so clear ... ... ...


So, let's make sure that we as Christians don't go overboard in our interpretations about "our times."

Generally I dont like mocking other peoples sacred figures. I dont think its good that they did this.

But given how Christians have made gay peoples lives miserable - and worse - for so long, I think they should expect this and suck it up a bit.

When I read about this freak show in the news today, I wondered "Where's the bearded lady?" And then I saw the video and there was a bearded lady or man in drag gyrating suggestively on stage. It's like drag queen story hour for the world.

What's sad is that I usually feel bad for the bearded lady. People shouldn't be exploited or made fun of for their physical features. In this case however, they made a mockery of themselves. While the last supper scene may have been intended to poke fun at Christians, it arguably looks worse for the rainbow community.

The Olympics are for athletic competition. A time where we set aside our political and religious differences to enjoy games together. Not this nonsense.

At 1:03 I could already see that he doesn't get it. Christianity is completely and totally about giving up your life. In Christianity it's not your life anymore because it belongs to God, not yourself. That applies as much to living in idyllic circumstances your whole life, as it does to if you were in the hands of henchmen of the antichrist/beast. Personally I'm at least a partial preterist. But that doesn't matter, because there are plenty of present day threats out there. Even if everything in the bible that gets attributed to the end times, actually happened within the 1st century, that doesn't mean this present day and age can't slip into an abominable level of depravity, if we allow it, if we don't resist it.
