Today, the first day of questioning upon Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle by congressional committee.

Thank God for the bipartisen attention generated towards uncovering this national disgrace/crisis being fostered upon America who seeks to understand how an elite institution such as the United States Secret Service could grant a "person of interest" just enough precious seconds to carry to completion the assassination of a former president, Donald J. Trump?

First of all, how does one justify bringing raw security measures before the public? The notion, "The people deserve to know" sounds as though that may be the extent of the perps punishment IF, there is indeed a nefarious plot here meant to be seen, not caught.

How is this dealt with if the one requested to appear does not come prepared, nor refuses to release known names or facts when asked which she did throughout the 4-hr questioning?

Are these many refusals by Director Cheatle compacted in good standing and accountability?

Can I insert some humor here, as this stuff is a little dark? But yeah, Cheatle should have put in better measures to protect Trump. Even though both candidates at the time are not my type (rather go with 3rd party or centrist), both candidates should be protected to the highest level of security.

At the same time as the Trump rally there were SS protected events for both Biden and Jill that were covered by SS in a much more well-staffed convincing manner.

Wow, that is unfair. Trump should receive the same amount of protection as Biden and Jill. Drones guys, use drones to keep track of the people around rallies and catch bad actors. :)

With all the mystery that has transpired, there remains some glaring cannons of compromise. Enough so, fmr. President Trump could easily justify hiring Kash Patel to dispatch scouts for the purpose of assembling his own security team, well-stocked and proven and bill Uncle Sam for it.

Conspiracy deserves its own placement on CF, but what if the weight of notable "common sense" confirmations begin to rack up an unavoidable high number of instances? How about just one of many? There the Director sat nine-days later to prepare to vindicate working with the S-Service, local Law Enforcement and FBI to gather facts and refused to say whether the perp acted alone..

I am beginning to question the Secret Service protection by the way Cheatle avoided the question "Has protection requests ever been denied to Trump? She could not answer that directly;

I see now JFK jr is getting protection and Vance, Imagine that.

After watching her testimony on TV to the House Oversight Committee, I believe that Kimberly Cheatle cares more about her own career in government, as well as all of the benefits attached to being able to continue serving in a government agency, than she cares about the failure of the Secret Service to adequately protect Donald Trump on July 13th. Here's another observation about House Oversight Committee and her testimony. Members of both political parties, including committee leadership, are calling for her resignation as Secret Service Director. Looks like to me that we finally found something that both Democratic and Republican congressmen are in complete agreement.
