In the storm of war of wars and rumors of war, in the midst of rampant worldliness common among laity, clergy and hierarchy, in a near-eclipse of the supernatural Glory of our given calling, the Church needs an awakening to the Two needed pillars that can bring stability back to our Church. Praise God that His Church has now seen in a new way the centrality of the Holy Eucharist!
But where is our Mother? Where is the place she was given in
the Church even from our dying Lord on HIs Cross? Does anyone believe that God is more greatly honored when "the Mother of God" is commonly ignored in the hearts of so many, even as we sometimes rattle off that phrase with the rest of the prayer as meaningless when we sometimes pray her prayer, the Hail Mary?
Our Catechism declares:
971 “All generations will call me blessed”: “The Church’s devotion to the Blessed Virgin is intrinsic to Christian worship.”[Lk 1:48; Paul VI, MC 56] The Church rightly honors “the Blessed Virgin with special devotion. From the most ancient times the Blessed Virgin has been honored with the title of ‘Mother of God,’ to whose protection the faithful fly in all their dangers and needs.... This very special devotion ... differs essentially from the adoration which is given to the incarnate Word and equally to the Father and the Holy Spirit, and greatly fosters this adoration.” [LG 66] The liturgical feasts dedicated to the Mother of God and Marian prayer, such as the rosary, an “epitome of the whole Gospel,” express this devotion to the Virgin Mary. [Cf. Paul VI, MC 42; SC 103]
Is OUR worship of God made complete with ALL that is rightfully "intrinsic" to Christian worship?
