  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Paul's handkerchiefs healed people

Ac 19:

11 God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.
Paul did not directly contact these sick people but indirectly through his handkerchiefs or aprons. God worked miracles through Paul using different methods at different times. The handkerchief method was not a normative practice for Christian healing—then or now. There is no formula to effect miracles.

That's the origin of Christian sacred relics.

I guess working miracles to heal medical issues was not any tissue for Paul's handkerchief. ;)

There is also a precedent with 2 Kings 13:20-21,
"Then Elisha died, and they buried him.
And the raiding bands from Moab invaded the land in the spring of the year.
So it was, as they were burying a man, that suddenly they spied a band of raiders;
and they put the man in the tomb of Elisha;
and when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet." NKJV

I believe that was a one-off. We do not see it practiced deliberately afterwards in the OT and neither Jesus nor His disciples promoted it in the NT.
Besides, that man was resurrected when he made physical contact with Elisha's "bones," not just being at his grave. We would have to leave those bodies exposed to try to duplicate that.
Putting an additional body in a shared grave is not so much a problem.

:idea: Maybe a wire running from the body to a exterior contact plate...?

Yep... the muslims have a pilgrimage to the Black Stone and all believers must touch the Copper Plate... :hug:

Best I clarify that we were musing about this in case we are thought to be promoting the latest weird sect...
