  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

CNN: Obama, Pelosi privately met and expressed concerns over Biden

CNN spoke with more than a dozen members of Congress, operatives and multiple people in touch with both Obama and Pelosi, many of whom say that the end for Biden’s candidacy feels clear and at this point it’s just a matter of how it plays out, even after Thursday night’s news conference. I should also add that it sounds like the Biden loyalists mentioned in the article were correct about Obama being behind the Clooney op-ed. Obama apparently spoke with George Clooney and gave him the go-ahead. A lot of rank-and-file Democrats still believe they make choices through the primary system.

The democrats are more worried about Biden than Trump. What a sad turn of events for them.

Actually, some Democrats wouldn't even care if it were medically confirmed that Biden was in late-stage dementia. They'd still vote for him.

The big problem for them is it's hard to get invigorated to vote for someone who can't even articulate the name of his own VP correctly, and that's going to make the campaign pretty tough.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is quite familiar with what it's like working for a "doomed presidential candidate". She wrote an article in Salon back in 2020 talking about it:

There's nothing more dispiriting than working on a dying campaign. The atmosphere resembles one of those sad birthday balloons with the air slowly seeping out as it deflates. You show up at the office. You're pumped. You attack the phones. You deliberately put pep in your voice. "Everything is going great!" we would blatantly lie to the movers and shakers we were calling. But the more we tried, the less it helped.
This is the Democrats' current reality. At least the press secretary has plenty of experience blatantly lying to the movers and shakers. So that might help.

Why is there a need to go here when on a number of occasions Trump said he is running against Obama and Nikki Haley refused to call the National Guard on Jan 6th?

Why are the rightists voting for a guy who can't articulate who he is running against?

If it was an occasional gaff, you could get by it. But it is a reoccurring issue:

Joe Biden Calls Zelensky 'Putin' Right Before Huge Press Conference

He does not seem to have clarity of thought.

As for the thread - yes

Hakeem Jeffries tells Democrats he relayed their concerns to Biden

I suspect there is a whole lot of private meetings happening. They need to move very quickly if they are going to get someone else in. But who would be the sacrificial lamb? If they loose they would be the pariah of the century.
