The Associated Press examines false and misleading statements made by Donald Trump and Joe Biden as they prepare to face off in the Election 2024 presidential debate.

Another fact-checking source, for the same debate.
Political debates ought not to be opportunities to throw slogans about.
America's economy is quite good, compared to the rest of the world.
America's inflation rate, is quite good, on many categories.
When politicians exaggerate on the numbers, or selectively pick a few
statistics they like, they misrepresent the total situation in America.
When American citizens who watch the debate, want everything to be
cheap and abundant, no matter how lavish their pickup truck is, or how
many times they eat out at fast food restaurants, instead of cooking
their own means at home, they are engaging in their own form of
"self-righteous" hallucinating about "what they are entitled to".
Americans need to get in touch with reality. All sorts of people, from all
sorts of countries, want to come to America, because the standard of life HERE
is better than most countries in the world. That's the big picture.
Another big point to make (which the politicians try to turn into clubs, to beat
people with), is that America is facing some REALLY UNIQUE CHALLENGES.
These unique challenges need unique, NEW solutions. And they will not be
solved by going back to the (often fantasy) GOOD OLD DAYS.
We needed 2 much better candidates, than what we got.
But we also need very accurate debate, between these candidates.
Those who are inaccurate about their arguments, cannot be trusted to
lead this country. And by a broad spectrum of articles on the fact checking
on assertions made in this debate, Trump seems to simply make up
slogans. While Biden seems to exaggerate some, selectively.
As Americans, we need neither of these debate styles.
