Paul suggested that marriage was not just for procreation, 1 Corinthians 7:

9 But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

If you are burned with sexual desires, get married. Contraception is fine. Vasectomy is fine. Talk to God about it first. The usual practice is for married couples to have children.

Sex outside of marriage is a sin.

I use to believe contraception was okay but I feel conflicted about it these days. I am worried if my husband and I use anything like that then we are trying to prevent what God wants for us. I don't know.. I just think of the verse where it mentions a man was punished for spilling his seed on the ground. I am still learning, I am by no means an expert. Could you please help me figure this one out with Bible verses? Thanks in advance.

God punished Onan for coitus interruptus because, specifically, he refused his levirate duty. God did not generally punish anyone for coitus interrupts.
