Hi Michi -
First, I confess I am nearly illiterate when it comes to modern slang and/or social media-speak. Can you define "Tate" for me, please?
Second, Yes, this man is a good writer - and theologian - and a keen and Spirit-led observer of modern man and the danger he stands in these days. I especially rejoiced to read this, from him: the crucial KEY to understanding this foundational deficiency: the lack of supernatural faith among us:
The two key foundational strengths of the Church - as God revealed it to Don John Bosco in his dream - the Gift of the Holy Eucharist, and the spiritual motherhood of Holy Mary, Mother of God - both are largely minimized by many - many "modern" Catholics, often disrespected if not rejected as Holy Truth.
I hope, but I cannot say this with the certainty of supernatural hope, that the Church's current focus on the Eucharist and the Real Presence will be a positive and fruitful first step for genuine renewal. But all sincere witnesses, homilies, evangelical exhortations and proclamations and processions and exposure in golden Monstrances can bear supernatural fruit only in souls rightly disposed.
So many souls among us, I grieve to say, do not really know themselves, nor burn with hunger for holy and saving Truth. Thus they are content with words about Truth every now and then, but not enough to realize that they lack but need this holy Truth to live , and become alive, in them.
I marvel at the beautiful witnesses of the three Fatima children - so true in their responses to the Blessed Mother Our Lady of Fatima - eager as they were to suffer and make sacrifices for the "poor sinners" of the world, as Mary exhorted them to do. So ought we to pray, offering our sufferings on their behalf, for them, for the poor sinners, as our Lord did.
