Donald Trump, recently convicted on 34 felony charges related to falsifying business records, admitted to New York officials that he had not surrendered a gun he possesses in Florida but that was registered in New York, according to CNN. It is a federal crime for someone convicted of a felony to possess a firearm or ammunition.
An official who was briefed on the pre-sentencing meeting told CNN that Trump admitted to still possessing one of the three fireams listed on his New York City permit to carry concealed weapons. Two of the three pistols he was licensed to carry were handed over to police in March 2023, after his gun license was suspended in light of his arrest by the Manhattan District Attorney's office. The third gun was "lawfully moved to Florida," presumably to his estate at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, where Trump was for the remotely-conducted hearing.
Palm Beach police told CNN that they were not told of any gun that Trump might have, and none were turned over to them since his conviction in May. The New York City Police Department has now notified police in Florida and asked them to take appropriate action.
Trump, who promised the National Rifle Association to reverse President Joe Biden's gun control measures, has long bragged about his guns and what he would do with them. After the deadly 2016 terrorist attacks in Paris, Trump told a French magazine that "I always carry a weapon on me" and that if he was there, he would have opened fire on the assailants.

Oh man, if he somehow managed to land a gun charge, too (like Hunter).... I'd still rather see him tazed, but that would be pretty funny, too.

Donald Trump by law doesn't have to surrender his gun until after sentencing when asked to by the sheriff or probation officer. They will take his guns at the appropriate time unless they give him a presidential exemption.

He will have the option to sell or transfer ownership though... They don't just steal them from people.

Yes, felons have some restrictions.

He can't hold a liquor license for his Bedminster NJ country club, either.
Not only that, but as a person on release after being arrested several times and pending trial in Georgia, Florida and DC, he is violating the terms of his release by holding on to his gun after he supposedly turned them in.

Hunter Biden had his gun illegally for some eleven days while Donald Trump has had his far longer. Obviously we do have a two tiered justice system.

That might be true but at the same time, surrendering his firearms, all his firearms, was a condition of his being out of jail pending trial. He surrendered two of them and kept the third.

It's likely they are appealing that, I don't know where they are exactly with appealing things.

But as a former president and a current leading presidential candidate having personal protection in the house for him and his wife is likely very important to him for good reason.

Since this whole convicting Trump on bogus charges didn't work, I'm sure the assassination attempt is next.

They already served a no knock warrant (during a time Federal Law enforcement weren't even doing no knocks on dangerous criminals) locked and loaded with authorization to kill, on a house where the secret service was protecting the first lady and the presidents son.

They were hoping to get into a gun fight with the secret service, for real.

I put nothing past them now, but I digress...

Appealing what? The conviction, of course, but I doubt that surrendering his guns as a condition of release from jail pending trial can be appealed. What would be the basis?

Well it may be important to him, that is what the well-armed Secret Service are being paid for with our tax money and it is still a condition of his not being in jail in Georgia, Florida and DC.

Didn't work how? The charges were obviously not bogus as the business filings were proven false. And logically, how would Donald John having a gun dissuade such an attempt that being surrounded by armed SS agents would not a hundred fold more?

I believe all this talk of assassination is just to preemptively justify a MAGA attempt.

SMH. He and his family have an entire security detail protecting them 24 hours a day.
And the FBI chose to reclaim the pilfered government property when they knew Mr. Trump.was in NJ.

For some reason, Trump thinks he alone can decide when to break a condition of his release.

What the heck are you talking about? The FBI called the secret service a few hours ahead of time and the secret service facilitated access. “no knock raid”? give me a break.

You should start reading better news sources.
