The bill considers the Ten Commandments an important historical and cultural document that influenced the founding of the US, one that students should study.

Legislators in the state of Louisiana have passed a bill that would require all public schools to display the Ten Commandments. While Republican Governor Jeff Landry has yet to comment on whether he will sign the bill into law, it would most likely be challenged by both state and federal civil liberties unions, which have called the bill “unconstitutional.”

According to CNN, the bill was passed through the state’s House of Representatives in a vote of 79-16. If signed, the law would require all classrooms of public schools from kindergarten to college to display the Ten Commandments.
The wording of the bill, HB71, allows each school to decide upon “the nature of the display,” but it must at least be shown on a poster or framed document, sized at least 11x14 inches. Furthermore, it stipulates that the Ten Commandments must be the central focus of the display, printed in a font that is large enough to be easily read from anywhere in the classroom.
While opponents of the bill have argued that posting a document of religious origins in public schools is a breach of the separation of church and state, the bill has taken a different angle. It presents the Ten Commandments as an important historical and cultural document that played a pivotal role in the founding documents of the US.

It should be the last 6 commandments. The first 4 how to worship God need to be based on liberty of conscience and no one should force anyone to worship God, its a choice from faith and love.

Agreed. Commandments 5-10 would be good to display in schools. If all 10 commandments are displayed, then the pledge of allegiance must be dropped, as the pledge is a form of idolatry.

Matthew 5:34 (NIV): "But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God's throne."

The bill says that its just a cultural/historical document. Its not meant as real commandments for the students to obey.

I think it’s a good idea. Just having them there isn’t forcing it on anyone.
I agree. After thinking about it further, the scripture say to diligently teach our children.

They used be in public schools decades ago and the last 6 commandments used to be in the court systems. Going away from God’s commandments has been a huge moral decline.

It still needs to be a choice and worshipping God should always come from the heart.

According to Rabbi Schneider (Discovering the Jewish Jesus), the commandments were given to separate His people from barbarism.

Doesn't seem like such a bad idea, especially in public schools.

Agreed, especially with schools in the 2020s pushing strange ideas into people's heads.

Made a devotional about protecting our children from evils in this world.

It seems like Louisiana is a mixture of Baptists, Evangelicals, and Catholics.

Regardless, it’s still a public school and they should keep religion out.

But the 10 Commandments are principles not religion. In fact in Judaism, they're not called commandments,
but statements.

Nonetheless, the 10 Commandments come from God, and the Founding Father's of
the United States, believed in a creator who gave us inalienable rights, as the
Declaration of Independence states.

Whenever a nation moves away from God and creates it's own moral code, it's doomed to fail.

They are called the Ten Words, but God specifically calls them "My commandments" right in the Ten Exo 20:6

Can you imagine how freeing it would be if everyone was keeping them. We could leave our doors unlocked, women could walk down dark alleys at night without worry, no more crime, no more lust of the flesh, just in perfect harmony with God. Why its called the law of Liberty James 2:10-12

So...
Yay Barbarism!
And some wonder why there's a push for school choice...

Your second link is interesting considering the pledge of allegiance specifically says “one nation under God”.

That is true, so why should we put our hands on our hearts? Matthew 5 speaks out against pledging oaths. I follow Jesus only, not the pledge, nor any political party.

We respect our flag and country. It doesn’t necessarily means we are worshipping them, in my opinion.

Well, I respect God only. The MAGA crowd ruined patriotism, so that is why I have ditched all forms of pledges and do not sing anthems.

This is one oath we should all stay away from (1919-1933):

"I swear loyalty to the Reich's constitution and pledge,
that I as a courageous soldier always want to protect the German Reich and its legal institutions,
(and) be obedient to the Reich President and to my superiors."

That’s your right.

Take care
