  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Supreme Court unanimously sides with NRA in First Amendment dispute with New York official

The Supreme Court unanimously ruled Thursday for the National Rifle Association in a dispute over whether a New York state official had violated the group’s First Amendment rights when she told companies to consider their reputations in doing business with the gun rights group.
The NRA brought the case against Maria Vullo, the former superintendent of the New York Department of Financial Services, saying she pushed financial firms to deny the group services because of its gun rights advocacy.
In a unanimous ruling, Justice Sonia Sotomayor said the group plausibly argued that its rights were violated, reversing the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision to dismiss the lawsuit.
Both Liberal and Conservative justices acted in harmony in speaking truth to power! Bravo for the Court.

The USSC is power, one of the most powerful bodies, certainly more powerful than a term limited governor.

If the USSC wants to keep its power, it needs to have the trust of the people.
Right now Trump is doing well in the polls, but when those June decisions start rolling out with the deciding votes from justices who've taken many millions in patronage and had spousal involvement in insurrection plans and supporting overturning elections, many more people will decide that the current court needs to be changed. More Thomas's and Alitos would be disastrous. Future justices need to add more balance--and integrity--to this corrupted, compromised body.
