In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

GOP split in Readington fuels nasty civil war tied to Trump and Kean vs. Malinowski congressional races

The backdrop to the story is a bitter internal fight between moderate old guard Republicans and a newer, significantly more conservative [MAGA] faction in a Hunterdon County municipality split by supporters and opponents of Donald Trump.

Last year, two incumbents from the moderate [GOP] faction, John Albanese and Jonathan Heller, lost party support but ran off the line and narrowly won the GOP primary.

There have been allegations of sign stealing over the last few years

The conservative faction grew tired of playing the game and built out an independent sting operation.

They decided to attach Apple AirTags to repurposed signs...

The opposition followed the signal to Albanese’s home. Panico telephoned a police sergeant to report the theft. They found the six anti-Malinowski signs there and placed Albanese under arrest.

Same stuff happened when Republicans took Democrat signs as well in 2022: An AirTag led police to a dumpster filled with more than 100 stolen Democratic campaign signs

Yep. Misread the story. I added a 2018 news article, showing the opposite, where a lone democrat stole a Republican sign. So now we can confidently say that both sides have stolen from each other.
