  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

By September 2021, Stern had decided to draft a criminal referral against Trump to the Justice Department after documents were still not returned, according to an FBI interview summary with a NARA employee, identified as “Person 53” in the court documents.

“Stern approached [Per. 53] to formally draft a letter to DOJ raising concerns about PRA materials from the TRUMP administration which remained unaccounted for by NARA,” the FBI memo stated.

In his interview with the FBI, Person 53 noted in his “years of experience,” he “understood NARA never had to make such a referral to DOJ…to accomplish such an ask.”

When he circulated the draft letter internally, Stern told colleagues he had been in contact with “DOJ counsel” about the matter and was continuing to communicate with the White House Counsel’s Office, showing the Biden administration was in the loop about the efforts to repossess Trump’s documents.

The Biden administration concealed this from the American people.

They never before had a former president take presidential documents, including classified, and refuse to return them.

I would certainly hope that the White House was in the loop on stolen White House documents.

They concealed that they were being notified on the situation? You seem to be insinuating some kind of wrongdoing on the part of the Biden administration, when it's pretty clear that someone else was doing the wrongdoing in this situation.

Who is "Stern"? Context matters.

You mean they allowed Trump to save face while trying to get him to follow the law instead of immediately publicizing his criminality?

That sounds like an awfully gentlemanly thing for Biden to have done.

What’s “the usual deadline” for giving back documents deliberately purloined from the Government?

Before they did that, they drafted a letter in May to ask the DOJ for assistance. It can be found in ex. 5 (page 19) of the documents attached to the Trump motion. (The "hidden documents" in question.)

https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.flsd.648653/gov.uscourts.flsd.648653.469.1.pdf

In may 2022 the NARA gets very annoyed (exhibit 24, page 106) and screams at Trump's lawyer to quit being stupid and comply with the FBI examination of the document boxes.
In his interview with the FBI, Person 53 noted in his “years of experience,” he “understood NARA never had to make such a referral to DOJ…to accomplish such an ask.”

We're talking about internal government communication that became subject to a criminal investigation.

I'm trying to figure out what "new" infomation John Solomon thinks he has found. It seems like I already knew all of these "revelations" from much earlier. Hopefully a decent journalist will take a good look at the exhibits in the Trump motion and see if there is anything new to see.

It makes you wonder what he was looking for. I think it was the letter from Kim Jung Un.

Nice try Valletta. How many months did DJT refuse to return the people's documents?
