CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I use a Samsung Galaxy A54 (Korean company) made in India, but I see your point. My point is that Chinese owned social media can easily be influenced by the Chinese government, while a phone designed by a non-Chinese company is not as big as a security risk by China. However, Edward Snowden did say that we are all tracked online by the US government. If you're a pacifist, taking the position that we shouldn't participate in any war ever, I respect that.
If not, the question is which country is currently in the greater danger: Ukraine, being militarily invaded by Russia; or the US, with large waves of immigrants arriving. The answer is pretty clear to me. Large waves of immigrants are a challenge for the US, but the immigrants aren't actually bombing us.
Of course, Congress could do two things at once, maybe...

Representative Greene apparently thinks that the House of Representatives is a parliament.
She’s trying to blame Democrats for joining on a Republican led bill that doesn’t have the funding that she wants “to secure the southern border”.
I’m sure that she’s free to write such a funding bill but would rather jump on to SM and complain loudly.
I hope her district re-elects her.

Can we have "neither" as a choice? I think it is impossible to "secure" the southern border. It is simply too long to secure. Current segments of the wall are breached every day. At its best, the wall slows folks down and its sensing devices gives Border Patrol longer to get there. While Border Patrol is busy in one location, the wall is breached somewhere else. Border Patrol can't be everywhere. So, the wall keeps some from getting through and slows the tide, but others breach it anyway. So, let's not kid ourselves that it will be secure. But we can be satisfied that we tried to do something. And, then there is the matter of funding wars. I'm rather tired of seeing our tax dollars going to aid others rather than aiding our own citizens. How about we invest in ourselves? Universal health care anyone?

Also, economic migrants don’t migrate to where they can’t find work. If we actually cracked down on employers using illegal labor or had a secure system for verification of identity the economic motivation ends. That’s not going to happen so…
