It's disappointing to see leaders that stupid.

I don't enjoy calling them stupid and I wish I didn't have to but there is no other descriptor for using tax payer funded money to push this law through any government body.

That said....

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to know about what possible consequences would be and hear someone bring charges against the governor's limosine.

Pennsylvania getting in to the act.

Trump-supporter Doug Mastriano proposes bill to combat ‘chemtrails’

In a memo seeking support for his bill, Sen. Doug Mastriano (R-Franklin) said new technology and a proliferation of weather modification patents “owned by a combination of Federal Government Agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations, and large multinational corporations” have brought forward the need to update Pennsylvania’s law.

In a November Facebook post with a photo of condensation trails in the sky above Chambersburg, Mastriano wrote, “I have legislation to stop this … Normal contrails dissolve / evaporate within 30-90 seconds.”

Shortly after his loss to Shapiro in 2022 Mastriano posted on Twitter — now called “X” — four photos of condensation trails above his district.

Maybe they think there's some secret compound in those chemtrails that makes people gay.

Transgender people, authors and librarians, gay people, male choirs, drag artists and now...pilots. The list of people determined to undermine our heterosexual society is getting longer.

Tennessee has opened a second front in its war against things that don't exist.

‘Vaccine lettuce’ bill, aiming to classify food containing a vaccine as a drug, passes in Tennessee [goes to Gov's desk]

“So does the sponsor know of any instances of there being food offered in the state of Tennessee that contains vaccines and some kind of a retail or public forum?” Campbell asked.

“No, I do not know any specific examples. But certainly they are developing this process."

To continue the discussion, Sen. Frank Niceley, R-Strawberry Plains, spoke in favor of the bill with an anecdote about lettuce.

“Actually I’ve been reading about data for a couple of years now and evidently with this new technology, they can raise this lettuce is what they’re talking about first. They can raise this stuff so cheap, and I’ve been reading about it talking about putting it in and lettuce and mass medicate everybody, like they do with fluoride in the water. I mean, who could control the dose?"

How are these people in office? In the UK these people would be hounded out of office in ridicule.

It's not quite the same but Tim Farron (a Party Leader in the UK a decade ago) announced his resignation after he was repeatedly pressed during the general election over his personal beliefs on issues including homosexuality. Farron issued a statement on Wednesday night saying he felt “remaining faithful to Christ” was incompatible with leading his party.

Funnily enough we have no separation of Church and State over here (we have Bishops in the House of Lords).

It seems the Republican party is the party of endless nonsensical conspiracy theories and would rather work on nonsense than anything actually useful.

Also last week, Pennsylvania state Sen. Doug Mastriano (R) — who has posted on social media about the chemtrails accusation — announced in a memo his intention to propose legislation to mirror the Tennessee bill.

Sounds like a republican in PA is going to propose something similar.

While the legislation is utterly pointless and based on conspiracies... I actually do see this conspiracy-driven bill as having fewer externalities than some of the others that have popped up in other places.

Being that chemtrails are bogus (therefore, whether the bill fails or passes, it's not going to add/remove anything that was/wasn't there before), it's a "do-nothing" bill about as useless as one banning magic gremlins in soup...

Unlike other conspiracy-driven pieces of legislation in the past that have popped up in various localities/states/countries that restrict GMOs and water Fluoridation based on conspiracy theories about those two things (which actually does have a negative real-world impact on people when they remove fluoride from the water supply and remove more affordable food options)

Bill text looks more like it addresses (real) future atmospheric geoengineering possibilities rather than goofy chemtrail conspiracies.
Agreed on the text, but there's no motivation to do such a thing. Likewise "vaccine lettuce".

The House seems to be having some fun with it all.

H. Placed on Regular Calendar for 4/1/2024

And there have been some amendments. See if you can spot them.
