Proverbs 6:16-17 God hates hands that shed innocent blood, Life begins at conception that is a living. being that embryo, is living. over and over in the bible you see it say "and she conceived seed" this is another reason not to vote, or care about these wicked leaders people vote in, "Trump" says IVF is good, listen God will judge this country. they think it is good to go kill the embryos flush them down the toilet if they are deformed , it's like eugenics. and so many "Pro life" politicians come out and support IVF, love IVF. Stem cell research is straight out of the pits of hell, you're not right with God if you support it. and the so called conservatives supporting this have blood on their hands

Trump ain’t no moral theologian. But we knew that. Lots of other politicians are, surprise, not moral theologians either. I wonder if they have latched onto IVF as a pro-life thing or a politically popular thing. The only consistent pro-life approach is the Catholic one of not allowing IVF. But that’s complicated to understand. It doesn’t reduce to a sound bite or to sound bite thinking. In the mean time IVF leaves tens of thousands of humans frozen in Nitrogen until the cryogenic machinery breaks down.

Not allowing IVF is not a catholic doctrine, it is a bible doctrine. the bible teaches that life begins at conception, scores of scripture on that.

Nonetheless it is articulated well by the Catholic Church, for those who care to learn about it. I'd wager you would get multiple interpretations, some pro and come con from Bible only folks and Bible only denominations on this subject. There are Bible only folks who insist that a baby is not alive until it takes it's first breath of air, thus they see no problem with abortion. I imagine there are evangelical politicians who say IVF isn't in the Bible so anything goes. Or lots of supposedly Christian politicians who raise a finger to see which way the wind is blowing and they see it blowing now in favor of IVF. Lots of muddy thinking.

It is my understanding that IVF means In Vitro Fertilization. This procedure is used when a couple cannot have children then a physician places a viable sperm from a donor into the womb. It has nothing to do with abortion.

What it entails is taking sperm and combining it with a harvested ova in vitro, that is, in a glass “test tube”, and then taking the fertilized embryo and implanting it.

One problem with this is that it can result in the destruction of fertilized embryos, and other religious objections have been raised as well by Catholics.

I myself would not object provided no fertilized embryos were destroyed in the process.
