My was a 1976 Toyota Corolla station wagon. It looked so bad, my wife wouldn't ride in it. Yet even when it was just a pile of rust in the driveway, it always started and ran like a top.

Lol, mine also ran forever til i couldn't stand it anymore and sold it. It was an old one like yours but i foget which Toyota it was but it was gray like most of the old toys were

1966 GTO. I had a chance to pick one up for 500 dollars in the early 80s but I was too young to scrape together the cash. So sad but at least I got to experience all the great muscle cars of the 60's early 70s. If you think there is a better era for cars, maybe? But everyone with these cars had lots of modifications. Mags, air shocks, headers, advancing the timing, camshafts etc. Yes, you can do that today but it is not widespread. Too much worry about high payments and insurance for most.

Wow, was it mine? I had a 66gto. It boiled. But it was wonderful to look at and sometimes to drive, piece of crap!

I think you got off cheap not getting it. The creep i was married too decided he wanted these kids to have it more then he wanted to please me and gave it to them for $2 or 300. It had a cool rack on the back white, with a black top.

Oh wow, i had a 72 duster that i loved slant 6 that i could almost fix anything on it that it needed. I got cheated out of that one also. Grrrrrr

I had a 66 lemans but only a 326. Yes, not as reliable as the electronic cars today but fun to work on. Might be easier to replace the points or coils after an EMP though than what you would need for a modern car.

It ran good. Amazing those cheap prices back then. I made 2.00 an hour while in school but always had gas. Cruising was still real too in the midwest anyway.

I had one of those too. It hauled butt with its straight 6 engine. I ended up putting my home speakers in the back powered by my Pioneer Supertuner.

I owned a 68 Camero and that is one vehicle I wish I kept. As a kid, I didn't understand the value of things.

Well, I do not drive, but my favorite cars depend on the era. And yes, a Chevy Bolt is on that list just to annoy Tesla fans.

1950s: 1951 Hudson Hornet
1960s: Chevy Impala or any Plymouth
1970s: Fiat 500, Mini Cooper or Ford Mustang
1980s: DeLorean or Pontiac Firebird
1990s: BMW E30
2000s: Any year of Toyota Corolla or Honda Accord
2010s: 2017 Chevy Bolt (cars during the late 2000s up through the first half of the 2010s began to look bland, until the new cars of the late 2010s)
2020s: 2023 Audi A5 or hybrid SUVs from Toyota, Nissan, Subaru or Hyundai

Favorite Supercar: Lamborghini Aventador, McLaren or Aston Martin DB9
Favorite Prototype Car: Any Japanese hydrogen fuel cell car
Favorite modified car: This Porsche that runs on synthetic gasoline.

Most boring: 2007-2015 Ford Edge, 7th Gen Chevy Malibu (2008-2012)
Best design refresh: 2015 Chevy Malibu
Least favorite: Any Tesla and most American SUVs
Least good looking: Tesla Model X or Y, Chevy HHR, Pontiac Aztec, lifted pickup trucks
Favorite ugly car, so bad that it is good: PT Cruiser. That car will become a classic in a decade or so. Stunningly unique design.
