Wow, that's an impressive number of people. We need Obama back.

"Since the spring of 2022, close to 200,000 border crossers and illegal aliens have arrived in New York City and more than 67,000 remain living off the taxpayer dime in city-run shelters."

They changed how they count encounters. It's a combination of two stats that were separate before. I think the numbers are still higher, but not as high as they seem. I haven't been able to find anything that still shows the separate number stats though.

Does it bother anyone that illegal migrants can attack police officers in NYC and then be released from jail without even posting bail?
Who amongst us really believes that those attackers will actually be tried, or sentence, to any prison time?
How long will it be before this starts happening, if it hasn't already, in other "sanctuary cities?"

Sad to say to the previous poster, the answer is yes. Some sanctuary cities will protect illegals from criminal prosecution so they are not deported. If they are not deported, they can vote in city, county, and state elections depending on the laws and rules of the jurisdiction. They cannot vote in federal elections though. For politicians who are power hungry and provide them free food and housing, those politicians get more votes.

In my county, illegal migrants where many in certain communities put off illegal fireworks which can cause property damage. Police are not given power to stop it. Only the fire marshal during business hours I learned. County is on verge of becoming a sanctuary.
