A quarter of Americans believe in conspiracy theory that FBI operatives organized and encouraged the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol

Q: Do you think it is true or false that FBI operatives organized and encouraged the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021?

Despite a detailed congressional investigation and more than 725 completed federal prosecutions of Jan. 6 participants that did not yield evidence of FBI involvement, a substantial minority of Americans still embrace conspiracy theories not unlike the ones that drove many rioters to storm the Capitol three years ago.

Imagine, if you will, a place where the following quote from the OP article can emerge from a presumably normal American adult. A place that is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge.

“The people that went there to express their views, to support Trump, were peaceful,” said Richard Baum, 61, an independent voter from Odessa, Tex. “The government implants were the violent ones: the FBI, the police people that were put in there, the antifa and BLM hired by George Soros; everybody knows that.”

I have my conspiracy theory of the healthcare industry (nutrition). It'll remain a conspiracy theory until its investigated and I don't think it ever will because of the money. I believe it will change slowly over time. Even if the truth came out, we would probably still argue about it.

I don't believe the FBI instigated it. However, if we were to find out they did, I'd not be surprised. I stopped trusting them during the Trump administration. They have too much blood and lies on their hands.

The Post-UMD poll finds 39 percent of Americans who say Fox News is their primary news source believe the FBI organized and encouraged the Jan. 6 attack, compared with 16 percent of CNN or MSNBC viewers and 13 percent who get most of their news from ABC, CBS or NBC. The poll finds 44 percent of those who voted for Trump say the FBI instigated the attack.

Something else that is interesting to note that this poll, and other polls about January 6th indicated that about 25% of Americans are NOT sure as to whether or not January 6th insurrection was instigated or aided by the FBI.

But not all Christians believe the creation story interpretations. This Christian doesn't because before it was written it was passed down for generations, unless you believe in YE. But this is off topic.
