Amos 9:
Well, LXX differed. Brenton Septuagint Translation:
James alluded to the LXX reading in (BSB) Acts 15:
What was the remnant of Edom?11“In that day I will raise up the booth of David that is fallen and repair its breaches, and raise up its ruins and rebuild it as in the days of old, 12 that they may possess the remnant of Edom and all the nations who are called by my name,” declares the LORD who does this.
Well, LXX differed. Brenton Septuagint Translation:
The Hebrew spellings for adam and edom differ by a tiny letter. LXX decided to read it as adam, meaning men.that the remnant of men, and all the Gentiles upon whom my name is called, may earnestly seek me, saith the Lord who does all these things.
James alluded to the LXX reading in (BSB) Acts 15:
17 so that the remnant of men may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who are called by My name, says the Lord who does these things.
