  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

THE SHEPHERDS ON THE HILL

Verse 1

Bethlehem, judea, on a hillside long ago,
The least regarded men about the town,
Were looking after flocks of sheep – they ever did it so.
Then suddenly, an angel’s coming down.

Pre-Chorus 1
The night lit up, the men did shake
The angel said ‘Don’t fear!
I bring you news, to quell your blues,
For everyone to hear.’
In David’s town, this very day,
There’s born a baby boy,
And you will see, that he will be,
To everyone a joy.

Chorus
The shepherds on the hill came down to see,
The shepherd of the hill of calvary.
Right now he’s just a baby in a stall,
One day he’ll surely die to save us all.
His love for us will never stop or sleep,
He’s come to lay his life down for his sheep.

He’s the shepherd of the hill of calvary.

Verse 2
The sky was filled with angels and they sang out loud and clear,
‘All Glory to our God. Let’s sing his praise.
On earth to those who please God - be at peace for He is here.
Let’s worship him for all our endless days.’

Pre-Chorus 2
The angels went, the shepherds soon,
ran off to find the truth,
And just the same, this Christ, by name,
Was there, as living proof.
They met the child and praised the Lord,
Then told all that they saw.
This Saviour King, had come to bring.
a peace, forevermore.

Is there music to go with this?

Thank you so much for sharing this! I like it that it isn't all about Jesus in a manger but the Jesus who died on that cross to save us from our sins. Good job!
