Between legal hearings/trials and golf, when would he have the time?Did i miss hear? He can't be both, right?
Seems like a conflict to meBetween legal hearings/trials and golf, when would he have the time?
Let the circus begin.Apparently, Trump cannot serve as Speaker of the House under current GOP Rule 26, “a member of the Republican Leadership shall step aside if indicted for a felony for which a sentence of two or more years imprisonment may be imposed.” Because of Trump's indictments, he is ineligible to be Speaker under Rule 26 and, from what I recall, the Republicans cannot change their rules, to allow Trump to be Speaker, until after a new Speaker has been seated. OTOH, there is some who believe it doesn't stop Trump from being nominated, or even voted to be Speaker, it just prevents him from becoming Speaker if elected.![]()
I mean realistically if they have the votes to elect Trump speaker, they have the votes to change the conference rules. And unlike House Rules, they don't have legal force anyway.Apparently, Trump cannot serve as Speaker of the House under current GOP Rule 26, “a member of the Republican Leadership shall step aside if indicted for a felony for which a sentence of two or more years imprisonment may be imposed.” Because of Trump's indictments, he is ineligible to be Speaker under Rule 26 and, from what I recall, the Republicans cannot change their rules, to allow Trump to be Speaker, until after a new Speaker has been seated. You mean Mr. Art of the Deal wouldn't want a job built around negotiation. While I doubt the GOP will actually have a significant push to make him Speaker, I also can't imagine he'd want the job.
It's like a job designed specifically to be an anathema to him - A job entirely built around procedure and negotiation.
Absolutely. Real, actual negotiation, like the kind that needs to be done in Congress, that isn't done just for Trump to enrich himself? He'd die of boredom. You mean Mr. Art of the Deal wouldn't want a job built around negotiation.
And actual work. While I doubt the GOP will actually have a significant push to make him Speaker, I also can't imagine he'd want the job.

Yeah, remember when that Republican supporter shot at Democrats on a baseball field seriously injuring one of them. His base would be so anxious to see him regain the presidency they'd have to triple the Secret Service protection on Biden and Harris. His unhinged legions might assassinate them.
Yeah remember when Biden supporters stormed into the Capital chanting that they wanted to hang the VP. Oh wait, those were Trump supporters.Yeah, remember when that Republican supporter shot at Democrats on a baseball field seriously injuring one of them.
Oh, wait, that was a Bernie supporter and Steve Scalice
Is he in jail currently? as he been convicted?I don't think he can from jail.

Reminder that Trump-supporting terrorists did this. You don't get to pretend that Trump supporters didn't try to throw a coup.
Remember when a Biden supporter broke into Kevin McCarthy's house and bashed his wife's head in with a hammer after which liberals mocked the attack by claiming it was a drunken lesbian tryst gone awry and Hunter tweeted a photo of panties and hammer saying "Got my Judy McCarthy costume ready"?Yeah, remember when that Republican supporter shot at Democrats on a baseball field seriously injuring one of them.
