CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

OH MY - it was cold last night ! My central heating system kicked in ! I have one master radiator that has no controls on it and I have a small radiator in my downstairs wet room [ that has 3 external walls ] that I was instructed by my plumbers that I was never to turn off but could turn down low but it had to be kept on so the room didn't freeze pipes in the winter.
To my horror I've just gone into the wet room and it felt slightly warm - yup radiator was warm albeit on the lowest setting. Went and felt the master radiator - that's working well !

a chilly morning so far and due to be very very wet later today . My GodPapa left his flat in London at 06.30 yesterday heading to the USA for a Church music conference - was flying into JFK and then on to Cleveland.
Got a message from him at midnight [ UK] to say he was settled into his Mom's. He has 48 hours to recover/rest and then heads to the Music thing

URGH - it's now been raining heavily for the last hour and according to the forecast will carry on chucking it down till about midnight !! Hopefully it will stop then so it will be dry when I head out to church tomorrow morning - as I've stuff to take in with me

This is really like a winter day - it's still wet AND it's cold - I ~may~ have to put some heating on and I don't like putting it on in September - it seems to be too early for it
Tonight is going to be interesting - we have a class with another parish in the UK via Zoom at 7pm and then prayers in our own Parish at 8pm - last time this other Parish ran these classes they were very very interesting but always ran over time.
Wonder what will happen this time

It's a chilly morning - there has been overnight rain but it's dry now - but for how long ?
Up and usual morning routine is underway - I'm out this morning - one of our Ukrainians has just come back from UA - she's been clearing her mother's things and organising care for her very frail father . Today we will be having a memorial Service for her mother's 40th day

We were certainly saved from the worst of Storm Agnes thank goodness ! Some areas do seem to have been hit pretty hard.
My heating is still largely off - ie the parts over which I have control
It's really nice getting back to what was our normal weekly activities at Church - living alone I really do miss the contact with folk.
