  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I had to re-enable holiday styling to see what they looked like. I have a feeling whatever format is being used isn't exclusive to CF.

If anyone wants to get rid of it, go to your settings, click Preferences, and then check the box that says "Disable holiday styling".

I enjoy them! Your avatar looks like a hat has sprouted legs. Riley's now appears as though they're actually wearing a hat, and Alex's looks like his hat is floating. Apparently it's Oktoberfest. I find quite charming.

I'm ok with them as long as it's not early Halloween. In fact I like the idea of Octoberfest. Maybe I'm just cranky because I got another "warning" here and am on the verge of being excommunicated.

I suspect it's because, according to research done by The Very Big Corporation Of America, the meaning of life can be reduced to two fundamental concepts, the first of which is - people are not wearing enough hats.
