A supervisory special agent at the FBI has confirmed a key element of IRS agents’ testimony that they were blocked from interviewing Hunter Biden as part of their investigation into his criminal activities, Republicans’ top investigator said Monday.

The agent, whose name was not divulged, said higher-ups at the FBI tipped off the Secret Service a day before the interview was to take place in December 2020. Word then came down to put off the interview, the agent said in testimony to the House Oversight and Accountability Committee.

“As a result of the change in plans, IRS and FBI criminal investigators never got to interview Hunter Biden as part of the investigation,” Rep. James Comer, Kentucky Republican and chairman of the committee, said in a summary of the testimony he released publicly.

But when you ask them to produce any of the above, suddenly they need more time and more investigations.

These investigations need to go much deeper; as the departments for which Congress holds the purse, continue to stonewall justice being served.

It is not odd for a target of an investigation not to be interviewed.
There was the same inner squabble during Mueller's investigation to interview Trump.
Trump was never interviewed come his 37 count indictment.
This is nothing unusual.

*Edit to add: And it looks like Trump is going to be indicted come Jan6th, without being interviewed.

Be aware that it is harder to get to Four Seasons Total Landscaping from downtown as the recent truck fire that caused the closure of I-95 occurred in the exit underpass from the northbound lanes of I-95 that one would normally take to get to 4STL in NE Philly. Three (of 4) lanes of the highway have been restored, but by filling the underpass and paving over it. The exit will not be open until the full bridge over the exit underpass is rebuilt.

Comer: FBI agent “CONFIRMED key portions of the IRS whistleblowers’ testimony, including that both Secret Service headquarters and the Biden transition team were TIPPED OFF about the planned Hunter Biden interview.”

Raskin: “The witness also indicated he did not suspect any political purpose or improper motivation behind FBI headquarters’ putative decision in December 2020 to notify a ‘transition team’ and U.S. Secret Service headquarters prior to Hunter Biden’s interview,” the Raskin statement reads, calling on Comer to release the entire interview.

Testimony released.

At least for the purpose of this, Hunter Biden had armed Secret
Service protection providing protection at the direction of whomever. And we knew that we could not just, you know, go to the door, or I certainly believed that we just could not go to the door, so that there would be ‐‐ have to be some notification to Secret Service so they would be aware that we were coming.
The initial plan was to have the local field office of the Secret Service be notified the morning of to diminish opportunities for anybody else to be notified.

Q Was it ever your understanding that the change in plan on December 7th through December 8th, 2020, that we discussed earlier, was driven by political considerations?
A I couldn't answer that.

Context

That whistleblower, IRS Supervisory Agent Gary Shapley, and the FBI agent said their plan was to show up at Hunter Biden’s home for a possible interview and “hail mary” consent search. They planned to notify the local Secret Service office in Los Angeles at 8 a.m. the day of their planned attempt, since Hunter Biden was a Secret Service protectee.

The agent also indicated that it was unlikely that Hunter Biden would have agreed to speak to him even if he had been allowed to try to knock on his door.

“In my experience, an attorney would be less likely to agree to succumb to an interview,” the FBI agent said.

So they always knew Secret Service would be notified. They don't know that the change in plan was politically motivated. And the plan, such as it was, was that they were hoping for a voluntary interview and a voluntary search from someone unlikely to grant them.
