  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

After Hensley was warned by the judicial conduct commission, she filed a lawsuit claiming the investigation and warning “substantially burdened the free exercise of her religion, with no compelling justification.” She seeks damages of $10,000. She has been represented by the First Liberty Institute, a high-profile religious liberty legal group based in Plano. The legal group also has strong ties to suspended Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Her lawsuit alleges that the commission violated her rights under the Texas Religious Freedom Restoration Act. Her lawsuit was dismissed by a lower appeals tribunal, but last month, the Texas Supreme Court said it will hear arguments on whether to revive the state judge’s lawsuit.

This new brief, submitted last week by Hensley’s legal team, argues that though the Supreme Court used the First Amendment and not state law in the 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis case, the decision is also applicable in her lawsuit. The First Amendment case decided last month said a Colorado web designer cannot be forced by the state to compromise her beliefs and serve same-sex couples.

God Bless Texas!

If the judge cannot apply the law equally, then she needs to step down.

How long until Christians refuse service to Jews as well?
I suppose that "Jewish" homosexuals seeking services for marriage would be included.

How do you define "Jewish?"

Do you support inclusion?

How are they persecutors? By not sanctioning an abomination that God hates?
God is supposed to hate a lot of things, that Conservative Christians do. Like gluttony, watching News channels, that they know that lie. I guess they should stop all overweight people from getting married. All people, that are divorced. People that have children out of wedlock. If they aren't going stop all sinners, from getting married. Then, they can stop with the fake outrage or hate over gay people.

Have you read scripture? I have lots of times. I can't find where gluttons are prohibited from marriage. Maybe you can point that out for me. However, Liberals do try to discourage gluttony with their snack taxes.

But they allow every other sinner to get married.
Homosexuals are free to marry members of the opposite sex. I don't understand why gays and lesbians don't switch their sexual roles, marry each other, and live happily ever after.

What if someone wants to marry his sheep?
The person gets to legally refuse them a marriage license as they don’t meet the requirements, unlike with same sex coples.
