  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Alastair Begg is quite a capable preacher -- out of 100 or more preachers I've heard over time (about 2/3rds in a wide variety of churches we visited over the years in many cities and denominations, and the rest on radio or internet), I put him up there in the top 1 or 2 in my experience. So, he will most often give an exceptionally useful and well done sermon. I don't hear Begg all the time, and have probably heard about 40 or 50 of his sermons. It had been a while since one, but today, I happened to be in the car at the time his radio broadcast comes on locally, and caught this one on telling the gospel to others.

How to best tell the gospel to others, based on Begg's extensive experience.

Today was part 3 of How to Share Christ with Someone: How to Share Christ with Someone — Part Three - Truth For Life

Many might want to start at part 1 (I just finished listening to parts 1 and 2) on the How to Share Christ sermons in the series (or even further back perhaps on the first in the whole broader series), and here's the entire series:

scroll down page a bit for the individual sections: Crossing the Barriers - Truth For Life (click on 1 to listen)

I found out after I posted that these sermons (or at least some of them) are on youtube also, though this #3 in the Sharing Christ youtube version was in a shortened version. Though youtube isn't really better, nor did he waste any time in the longer version, I'll remember there are youtube versions that might be useful for posting sometimes, because it doesn't even need going to a website then, and some might like not needing to go to a website.

Cool. Great list. I will have a listen. Got a 4-hour trip today and so should be able to listen to a few of them.
I like Alister as well. But I have only listened to a couple of sermons from him.
Great, that is a good time to listen, on the road. :)

I noticed on the series page (the 2nd link above) there was a 'play the full series' (audio) button in the graphic near the top, which if you want the entire 12 is an easy way to queue them all. I only heard from parts #1-3 of How to Share Christ with Someone myself so far.

Greetings Halbhh,
Thank you for sharing Alistair's sermons with us. He really is a remarkable speaker and an inspiring preacher, with a lot of valuable lessons for any of us doing evangelism in formal or informal forms. Praise for the sound quality of his recordings as well, we've tried to record some of our own sermons in many languages, especially for our missions in Europe but rarely have we gotten the sound to be this crisp! I've shared several of these links with our own ministries and look forward to hearing more of his inspiring words.
