  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Father’s Day is going to feel strange this year…

Something like a Father's Day Novena is a nice way to remember and honor our fathers ...

FATHER'S DAY NOVENA

Beginning on Father’s Day, your special intentions
will be remembered during nine days of community prayers
(Mass, Divine Office and Evening Devotions) in the
Eucharistic Adoration Chapel of the Conventual Franciscan Friars
at the National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe at Marytown.

Thank you Blade. I was just thinking if it and wondering what to do. My mom is living with us now but Father’s Day is going to be awkward for sure. God bless you.

FYI:
Women of Grace is offering a Father's Day Novena opportunity also ...

We invite you to enroll your fathers, grandfathers, uncles, in-laws, godfathers, priests, and spiritual fathers. They will be included in our Novena of Masses for Our Fathers and Spiritual Fathers to be offered by Reverend Father Anthony Acire of the Archdiocese of Gulu, Northern Uganda, who will offer this novena beginning on Father's Day, June 18th, and ending on June 26th, the Feast of Saint Josemaria Escriva. When you enroll them, you will receive a link to a card that may be printed and sent to your loved ones.
