  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How true is this?

Yes, science is just nonsense today, you can`t replace every cell in the soul because then it wouldn`t be you anymore, so you can`t live forever, it`s not the body that ages, but the soul, people are just confused about it because they look old, it`s because they`re holding onto something mentally so the body suffers, and muscles are stronger than steel, so there`s no point in being half a robot, and you only want to cure diseases because you get sick from weakened immune from being immoral, and the soul is in the brain-stem not the brain, there`s children who are born without it, and still have a personality, so you`re way off in every sense

Are you claiming your body does not age, because you discovered its all a mental state?

How old are you according to calendar and according to physicians?

I am not familiar with the context of your post ….but the soul, or soul life … is in the blood.

To make the distinction of the soul being who we are (which I may have myself stated at one time) is .. I think not entirely accurate, but there is some validity to it… as blood lines are passed on to progeny, which seem to include certain trats or characteristics. But the Word does tell us that the life (soul) of the flesh is in the blood.

Yes, science is just nonsense today,

No, science is not nonsense. Please learn some. Your posts are generally devoid of scientific understanding, This one is no different.

you can`t replace every cell in the soul because then it wouldn`t be you anymore,
THere is no scientific evidence for a soul in the first place, nor any evidence that undetectable souls could interact with the matter of the body in the first place.
so you can`t live forever,
No one can. It's a basic fact of life.
it`s not the body that ages, but the soul, people are just confused about it because they look old,
No, it's bodies that age and look old.
it`s because they`re holding onto something mentally so the body suffers,
while mental issues or rather stress might impact aging, it happens without any stress or mental impacts.
and muscles are stronger than steel,
They are not.
so there`s no point in being half a robot, and you only want to cure diseases because you get sick from weakened immune from being immoral,
"Immorality" is not connected to disease or immune strength.
and the soul is in the brain-stem not the brain, there`s children who are born without it, and still have a personality, so you`re way off in every sense
If a soul exists, there is no detection (yet) of the location of it.

Depends on the definition, I guess.

Observational science can observe people acting like they are sentient, having consciousness. But its impossible to find it in the tissue of their bodies.

I can move my body as I wish (and repeat it), which is again observational science. But how it works mechanistically, is a deep philosophical issue that exists for millennia (materialism, idealism, dualism...).

In the broad sense of a soul as spirit that exists separately from the tissues of the body, perhaps with the ability to depart from the body and perhaps to exist indefinitely. (A definition that covers all Christian understandings of souls) Not merely in the sense of consciousness.

Souls, no, consciousness, yes -- in the brain.

This is a question of neuroscience.

Whats the difference between soul and consciousness? Both simply means "me". One term is theological, one is psychological and neither can be find in the tissue.

I do not see much difference between saying "our consciousness exists after our body dies" and saying "soul" there.

Consciousness is a demonstrated property of brains. Soul is not demonstrated. Most soul claims also attribute consciousness (and often post-mortem survival to "souls").

That word salad OP is just bizarre. Aging, in a sense, is a "normal" biological process, involving multiple factors. Areas that are currently under study are erroneous transcription of RNA from DNA, and errors in protein synthesis due to abnormal RNA. The end result is the accumulation of enzymes and other proteins that malfunction and eventually lead to disease and cellular death. The linked article has more information, but is quite technical.

Transcription errors in aging and disease

I'm really beginning to think that @Tjufsen is not a real person. They might be a bot. They never respond to anything and just post really train-of-thought kind of posts that sound like they were written by AI.
