  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please pray for my cousin Bobby who has been in the hospital for the last two weeks or so. We thought he was doing better and, on the mend, but his condition suddenly got worse, and he is back in the Intensive Care Unit fighting some kind of infection (don't understand all the details of his condition).

Bobby went into the ICU unit from the emergency room form having vomiting about 2 weeks ago. But had a remarkable temporary recovery with lots of prayer from friends and relatives as well as some surgeries to correct a blockage in his intestines and was in the hospital the last week or so but just for observation to monitor his condition. But his condition suddenly just got worse, so I am told by my aunt Peggy, and she even said he had a near death experience.

I will add that Bobby is a believer and has been going to some kind of local Evangelical Bible church for the last 25 years or so.

Thanks all.

one of the issues with my cousin that I was not aware of was internal bleeding. He may be over that, but that was an issue Saturday.

He sounds like he is doing better, his fiancée put him on her cell phone to talk to my dad last night from the ICU. He still is very weak though.

Well unfortunately the problem is still going on. Bobby went to surgery for the internal bleeding and they seem to suspect an issue with his intestines that they are too thin.

But here is the Good News. I have been hoping and now officially praying that my best friend Stan can visit him and pray for him in the hospital. As a young layman going back 30 years ago has had a lot of success praying for the sick, that he has the Gift of Faith, or healing. I have seen some miraculous healings with him praying for the sick, and even when that didn't completely happen people always feel better after meeting him. Basically, even people on death's door, have a dramatic improvement and end up living months beyond what everybody thought was possible. And since then, he has been ordained and consecrated a bishop, so he has even more to offer as far as wisdom and experience goes.

So, I don't see that there is much to lose in my cousin having a visit from him. So, I'm just praying he, or maybe both of us together gets a shot to meet with my cousin, rather than them doing the usual of doubling down on medical restrictions and interventions.

Well, It's been a month now. And it's status quo. He has been in the ICU for a good 2.5 weeks or so.

I guess there is a small but significant improvement (my dad just walked in to update me in the middle of writing the post). He is able to walk around a little bit now every day, but people but still in ICU, being watched for infection. He has got tubes sticking out of him etc.

OK thanks for the prayers etc.

Thanks all. I got some good news from my dad when he looked at his email from my cousin's fiancée. She relayed that Bobby has finally been removed from Intensive Care to a Surgery Recovery area. So that is positive news, since he has been in ICU for a good 3.5 to 4 weeks. (I think his entire stay at the hospital has been over 5 weeks since he first went into the ER).
