it takes time and a lot of practice, you have to hold your attention in in a loving and grateful way on the LORD, initially it is hard to even hold attention on GOD for a few minutes but over time it becomes possible. I would even say you feel his presence.

The Jesus Prayer is a means of constant prayer. "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner". It's said repeatedly often for hours on end by monks. The Hail Mary among Catholics is an equivalent. Oftentimes people in dire situations naturally begin to enter into constant prayer. Someone on a turbulent flight will begin to pray repeatedly for their safety. Constant prayer is the same when there is no danger. Simply repeat the prayer over and over.
