@gustavchristianartist from @Neogaia777: 4. Because God has something important for you to study or learn, before you get to go to Heaven in the afterlife, etc...

Everyone's suffering is unique, but it makes us into the beautiful gems and jewels we are/were meant and supposed to be to those who will submit to it, and by that I mean that have the ability to learn or grow through it, or change by it, etc, (because that is what it means to "carry" your cross daily, etc), anyway; before we get to go into Heaven in the afterlife, etc; some of it "qualifies" us somehow for what we were meant to be, and do there somehow (in Heaven) also, etc...

I wish I could heal you friend, but just know that this life is not all there is, and you will no longer have this issue one day, and at that point, it will be forever or eternal after that, ok...

God Bless!

It will be your own personal crown of glory in the afterlife, when all's perspective on it, will all be very much more different than it is right now, etc...

God can comfort a broken person. Pain is there to warn us. If I get too close to the flame, the pain motivates me to pull back to avoid getting burnt. I do not want to fall because it might bring pain. God also heals as this article testifies:

I can not answer as to the why however what I can say is while we are in the flesh there is much suffering but we still remain faithful in Him. Blessings.

Christians suffer because

1. God wants to glorify himself.
2. God wants what is good for us.
3. Sin has consequences.
4. Satan has asked to sift us as wheat.

Dwell on this promise: In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).

God never pursues his glory at the expense of the good of his people, nor does he ever seek our good at the expense of his glory. He has designed his eternal purpose so that his glory and our good are inextricably bound together. What comfort and encouragement this should be to us. If we are going to learn to trust God in adversity, we must believe that just as certainly as God will allow nothing to subvert his glory, so he will allow nothing to spoil the good he is working out in us and for us.

Praise God for His word. Depends on what kind of suffering were talking about. From what I read and understand any kind of sickness and such and physical sickness is never from God. Gods will is His word and as He said through Christ you will be done on earth as it "is" in heaven. So how it is there is His will here. Peter and John said after the man was healed at the Gate beautiful "why look at us as if we healed this man by our own power. Its that name faith in that name healed this man". See never once did they pray ask God or Jesus anything. He already gave us that name above ever name to use and all power and authority over the enemy. Anyway its in the OT NT.

This is not Gods world. Satan as its written is the god of this world. Christ said if this was my kingdom my servants would not allow you to take me. Satan comes to kill steal and destroy. Only one does this God never has never will He can't.

Because this is an unjust world where sin, death, and suffering take place, often without any rhyme or reason. Bad things happen for no other reason than because bad things sometimes happen. It's why we believe that in Christ we are being saved and have hope for the day when God makes all things new. This isn't a just world, but God will bring His justice to the earth and set all things to rights in the end, the dead will rise, the least shall be called greatest, the lowly shall be lifted up, and the meek shall inherit the earth.

God doesn't glorify himself through our suffering.
The heavens declare the glory of God, Psalm 19:1. Everything in this world, universe and other universes were made by God from nothing. The trees, plants, animals, sunsets, seasons of the year glorify God.
Painful, destructive, horrid suffering, doesn't.

Did God glorify himself through Christ's suffering? (Yes.) In the same way, he glorifies himself in ours. Suffering for the gospel and even for our own sanctification brings glory to his name. If nothing about suffering brought glory to God, then why would we be commanded to rejoice in suffering?

Did God glorify himself through Christ's suffering?
It was God's will and plan that Jesus would reconcile us to himself by laying down his life for us, certainly.
He was glorified by Christ's obedience and by his death.
I don't believe that God's glory was shown by the soldiers mercilessly flogging Jesus half to death, or forcing him to wear a crown of thorns. They introduced unnecessary suffering.
In the same way, he glorifies himself in ours. Suffering for the gospel and even for our own sanctification brings glory to his name.
No; suffering for the Gospel - Christians standing fast to their faith and not giving into torture or persecution - bears witness to him. By it, Christians are saying to others that no matter how great the pain - even to the point of losing their lives - they are not going to deny their Lord and Saviour. Yes, some people may look at what they are going through and consider that God must be really something if folk are willing to die for him. But others may look at that and wonder what sort of God lets his followers go through all that.

And this kind of suffering - for doing right - is not at all the same as suffering through cancer, disability, MS or other illnesses.
One of the biggest questions that someone will ask is "if God is good, why does he allow suffering?" Some don't come to faith because of it; others have faith but then fall, or turn, away if they feel that their prayers are not being answered. How many people would believe in God and follow Jesus if they were told, "your pain and agonising illness is what glorifies God"?
If nothing about suffering brought glory to God, then why would we be commanded to rejoice in suffering?
The Bible talks about people suffering because of their faith: standing firm and not being dissuaded from their belief in God, even when others try to make them renounce that belief by inflicting physical pain. That faithfulness is to be applauded - and blessing, and praying for, people who do that to you is to be applauded all the more.
That doesn't mean that the physical pain brings glory to God. Otherwise, that would be an excuse for anyone to do it; "God is being glorified by my disembowelling you - I'm going to glorify him even more and go and do it to a few others."
Jesus would then have blessed those who were nailing him to the cross, instead of asking his Father to forgive them.

If suffering through illness brought glory to God, why did Jesus heal the sick?

God is a God of justice. All things work together for good for those that love God and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28.

Well, we are making some progress here, then. Originally, you had said, "God doesn't glorify himself through our suffering." Because that seemed contrary to Scripture rather obviously, I had to reply. Now, here you're admitting that God does glorify himself through at least some of our suffering—just not for the sake of suffering by itself, but rather for what that suffering accomplishes. And that, of course, is just what I had said ("suffering for the gospel and even our own sanctification").

We worship a God who is the very definition of love. Obviously, suffering for its own sake does not bring him glory—but then nobody said it did in the first place, including me. God glorifies himself in our suffering for the sake of what that suffering accomplishes, namely, our sanctification which is our greatest good. That is why we're told to rejoice in suffering, "knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance, character, and character, hope" (Rom 5:3-4). "You need endurance in order to do God's will and so receive what is promised" (Heb 10:36). We are being made "worthy of the kingdom of God" through this suffering (2 Thess 1:3-5), which is for us an "eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison" (2 Cor 4:17), "a better and lasting possession" (Heb 10:32-34).

I could go on but I believe the point has been aptly made.

I don't believe that God's glory was shown by the soldiers mercilessly flogging Jesus half to death, or forcing him to wear a crown of thorns.

I do, for it is written: "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). Other versions say "with his stripes" (RSV), "by his stripes" (KJV), "by his scourging" (NASB), and "whipped" (NLT). These wounds or weals were prophesied of God's holy lamb; I would even suggest that Genesis 22:11-14 could be a prophecy of his crown of thorns. This glorifies God by what it accomplished, not just the fulfillment of prophecy but, more importantly, securing the redemption of every single one of God's people. (There is a beautiful song about this from 2007 called "By His Wounds" [YouTube] sung by Mac Powell, Steven Curtis Chapman, Brian Littrell, and Mark Hall.)

Suffering for the gospel, Christians standing fast [in] their faith and not giving in to torture or persecution, bears witness to [God]. [These suffering] Christians are saying to others that no matter how great the pain, even to the point of losing their lives, they are not going to deny their Lord and Savior.

There are two facts which are indisputable: (1) That was suffering. (2) It glorified God. Thus, my point stands firm.

But others may look at that and wonder what sort of God lets his followers go through all that.

And I hope they ask about it, for then I could introduce them to his servant Job. Despite all the suffering that God brought upon him (Job 42:11), Job's enduring faith vindicated God and brought him glory, and Job was comforted and strengthened. "You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about" (Jas 5:11).

What kind of God would do this? Our God, the God of Scripture, the only true God almighty, holy and just. That God—and I am not ashamed of him.

And this kind of suffering (for doing right) ...

Surely that is not the only kind of suffering we endure which glorifies God. Are there any among you who never sins? Let me suggest to you that God's children can also endure suffering for doing what is wrong. And we should endure that suffering as discipline, for "God is treating you as sons. For what son is there that a father does not discipline?" Sure, that discipline may be painful at the time, but our heavenly Father does it "for our benefit, that we may share his holiness" (Heb 12:3-11; cf. 2 Thess 1:3-5).

One of the biggest questions that someone will ask is, "If God is good, why does he allow suffering?" Some don't come to faith because of it; others have faith but then fall, or turn away if they feel that their prayers are not being answered.

We are responsible for spreading the seed; we are not responsible for the condition of ground upon which it lands (Luke 8:4-8). Whether or not it grows is up to God (1 Cor 3:6-7). People cling to all kinds of feigned excuses for rejecting God (but they really have none, Rom 1:18-21), and I'm sure this is one of them.

How many people would believe in God and follow Jesus if they were told, "Your pain and agonizing illness is what glorifies God"?

Absolutely every single person God gives to Jesus to save (John 6:37).

The Bible talks about people suffering because of their faith, standing firm and not being dissuaded from their belief in God even when others try to make them renounce that belief by inflicting physical pain. That faithfulness is to be applauded.

Because their experience brought glory to God? Quod erat demonstrandum (i.e., my argument is further confirmed).

That doesn't mean that the physical pain brings glory to God.

By itself? No. But then nobody ever suggested otherwise.

Otherwise, that would be an excuse for anyone to do it: "God is being glorified by my disembowelling you. I'm going to glorify him even more and go and do it to a few others."

Even if they actually say that, it's not really why they're doing it—as will be exposed before the throne of God on that great and terrible day.

Actually healing , true healing, natural, simple, wholesome, God's Way,
is "easy" and right
compared to all other ways,
and perfect in God's Purpose and God's Plan and in Perfect Harmony with all of God's Word.
THat does not mean it happens the way men think.

In fact, as written in God's Word, suffering, pain, even also scourging, is necessary, and the purpose as stated in Scripture is

to "wean us away" from sinful thinking/thinking the way we always did before/ "man's way of thinking"

to thinking God's Ways ---- the only right way, the LIFE WAY, Holy and Pure and Righteous.
