Whether one agrees with the statute or not it would seem as though she was in violation of the local "Public Spaces Protection Order", (A sign designating the area as such was clearly posted) thus her arrest would seem to be perfectly legitimate. The fact that some people may not agree with the law doesn't give them the right to simply ignore it. This was likely just an attempt to bring a test case before the court in order to draw attention to a law which a specific group of people fear will become more widespread, hence there was someone there to film it.

Yes, well, I was thinking about it and wondering about it. The PSPO can be used to restrict people from protesting or "praying and counselling" within a certain distance from the abortion clinic - does that mean praying with or counselling someone going into or coming out of the clinic - or does it include silently praying - she also said the clinic was closed at the time.

I agree it probably is to bring a test case, as some things I think do need clarified in regard to the use of PSPO's

Silent prayer?

Prayer is speech, the movement of one's lips (in speech) is regarded as an act.

Meditation does not count as speech.
