Aside from an investigation by federal and Long Island prosecutors, at least one fellow Republican feels he may be investigated by the House Ethics Committee when the GOP assumes the majority:

A fellow Long Island Republican, Rep.-elect Nick LaLota, said he was troubled by the revelations.

"I believe a full investigation by the House Ethics Committee and, if necessary, law enforcement, is required," LaLota said Tuesday.

Republicans bill themselves as the party of traditional values. Lying and fabricating a resume don’t qualify. Let’s see if the party is all talk, or if they mean what they say.

The prior administration and the last election showed that. He's going to be seated and vote as he's told, who cares if he's a liar, fraud, or ran a ponzi scheme?

Less odious than Trump but mainly because he's a smaller time con artist who hasn't had the ability to cause wide spread harm however if he's willing to lie about his mothers death he's just as morally crippled.

Controversy surrounding Rep.-elect Santos inspires lawmaker to propose 'SANTOS Act'​


A new bill is being introduced to prevent would-be lawmakers from lying to constituents: the Stop Another Non-Truthful Office Seeker (SANTOS) Act.

"I am introducing a bill to require candidates to disclose under oath their employment, educational, & military history so we can punish candidates who lie to voters about their qualifications," Bronx Congressman Ritchie Torres wrote in a tweet.

Torres' bill refers specifically to the ongoing controversy surrounding Rep.-elect George Santos, who has admitted to a variety of falsehoods about his education, family history, religious affiliation and work experience. Those admissions came only after he won the November election, though Santos has shown no signs he plans to resign.
