You could probably save some money and stick to the Lord's prayer, which covers most everything God considers worthwhile. OR when you wish to ask Him a question or request something for somebody you can simply state it and then say Thy will be done (see Lord's Prayer). No need to get extravagant and hog Heaven's bandwidth. He already knows what is in your heart and is not interested in the reasonings of the human mind.

The Heart of Christ by Thomas Goodwin
(Well, not directly about prayer, but is a companion for Christians who struggle with doubting in their prayer-life).
A Method for Prayer by Matthew Henry
(I haven't read all of it, but a great book to familiarize yourself with a basic structure for prayer).
Does Prayer Change Things? by R.C. Sproul
(A great little book on the subject of prayer and a little exposition/application of the Lord's prayer).

It's not a book on prayer so to speak, but "My Utmost for His Highest" by Oswald Chambers is my favorite as far as what to pray for. I have read it almost continually for a couple decades. I also have the E.M. Bounds collection of his books on prayer.
